This could have been caused by many things. If you dropped it, it could have broken. It also could just be that the microphone is broken. You could also try changing the batteries.

Your provider can do this for you. just phone them and tell them the number'

Here is a link to download the manual in pdf format. The answer machine can be set to answer in 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 rings. If your service provider(Frontier) forwards an unanswered call to the message service after 4 rings and your answer machine is set to answer after 6 rings, calls will never be answered by the answer machine. Frontier could be forwarding only busy calls to the message service but often busycalls and no answer calls are forwarded. You imply there has been a change in your service provider, the new company Frontier may not have kept your phone features the same, which may explain the difference. If you don't want your unanswered calls forwarded to the message service, call Frontier to change.

The red light on the handset charger turns on to indicate that the handset battery is charging. The light will blink to show the handset is charging and remain on when the handset is charged.
