This has happened to me. Check the contact points in the base of the machine. Ours had some corrosion on them. I took an emery board and filed the corrosion off to clean the contact points.

My Guess is that the reletive humidity in the room is not low enough to see any vapors coming from the machine. Normaly you won't see these anyway. Some models in the stores seem to make more mist than what you get at home. If the humididty level in a room is close to what is coming out of the machine there will be no signs of any mist coming out. Just make sure the filters are clean and check and make sure the water level is going down on the machine and this will tell you its workin. the faster you are using the water in the tank the more you are putting in the air! If this is a hot mist machine then I would say the heating element in the machine is not working.

From the quick research that I did I'm finding 100 hours. That will vary very significantly depending on the mineral content (hardness) of your water. If you have alot of mineral in your water the filter may have to be changed much more often to maintain good operation of the unit.

Filters need to be changed regularly depending on environment may have to change more often.

These systems can be very troublesome. It is possible that you are having mineral buildup in your system from the water supply. You can try adding 1/4 cup vinegar to your water to help clean away deposits. See if that helps .

As awkward as it sounds tap water is bad for the unit, Try buying store bought water. If this does not help you will need to change the filter in the system also you can set the desired humidity level to 60% so it will keep pumping if you still have an issue with the product refer to your manufacture. Mine was doing the same thing...first month of operation (installed toward end of heating season) = no problems with noise (bubbling, gurgling) though the duct work - started second year toward middle of season. Now its been running for a few weeks and is intolerable. I dug out owners manual and it did not address this at all. I dug out the installation manual and viola! Gurgling is caused by excess condensation in the steam hose. Sure enough the steam hose had a small area depression and did NOT have the constant downward slope necessary - installation instructions are VERY specific about needing a slope in order to allow condense to drain from the steam house. The zip-tie installation had slide down from a vertical stabilizing pipe & allowed for the hose to sag in the middle (nice install job slacker). I adjusted it and the SOUND IS GONE. Hope this helps someone else.

All question need full 'make model (what it is)' to answer efficiently. Some actually spay a mist of water, but the better one suck dry air in and blow moister air out through the saturated filter membrane.
