Please do the following steps.
1. Check that the battery is charged properly.
Charge your device for at least 2 hours before trying to turn it on again. Make sure the charging light on your device is on.
2. Remove the SD card
If your device uses an SD card, remove it.
3. Reset the device.
Use a straightened paper clip, or something similar, to push the reset
button for 15 seconds. See the pictures below for where to find the
reset button.
Turn your device on.
Press the On/off button for at least 5 seconds.
Insert the SD card
If your device uses an SD card, insert the SD card.
Connect your device to your computer using the USB cable or dock.If
your TomTom device asks you if you want to connect to your computer, tap
YES.
UNINSTALL THE APPLICATIONTomTom HOME may run automatically when you connect your device. If it does not, run TomTom HOME on your computer.
In the Main Menu of HOME click on
Manage my device.
Click on the plus symbol (+) next to
Applications. Click in the checkbox [ / ] on the right to select the application.
Click on
Remove items from device.
Click
OK at the prompt.
You will see a prompt, asking you to save a copy before you delete it. Choose
Don't copy.
The application will then be removed. Click
Done when complete.
REINSTALL THE APPLICATIONFully Exit TomTom HOME.
Locate the
TomTom folder in the following location on your computer:
- Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\\My Documents\
- Windows Vista: C:\Users\\Documents\
Rename this folder to '
TomTomOLD' (or Windows, right-click the folder and choose
Rename)
Restart TomTom HOME.
Click
Update my device in HOME.
You will be prompted to login. If you do not have an account in TomTom, create one.
Install all available updates that will be shown.
Updating your device ensures improved performance and addresses the frozen issue that you are experiencing.
