When It is plugged into a power suppy if you have a full green light all you need to do is find a paper clip look for the reset pin hole next to sd card slot and push it in you will fell it touch hold it there at lease 15 seconds.

I detest cell phones, but here's how I got my wife's BB8100 and BB8800 to connect to my GO930:
1) Press the button with 7 dots in a circular pattern (Menu?);
2) Click "Options";
3) Click "Bluetooth";
4) Click "TomTom GO 930" (yours may differ);
5) Click "Full Menu";
6) Click "Options";
7) Change "Discoverable" to "Yes";
8) Press the button with the curved arrow (Return?);
9) Click "Save";
10) Click the curved-arrow button until the menus are gone.
The TomTom should now be able to connect to the BB.

Had to do something similar on the iPhone 4 before it could connect (haven't found a "Trust" option yet).

Activation codes are included ONLY with a GPS that is bought BRAND NEW in its ORIGINAL TomTom box. Also, TomTom activation codes are SPECIFIC to your GPS serial number, so "any: activation code will not work.
Unfortunately, if you didn't buy your GPS new, or have the original TomTom box with all its contents, you can't get or use an activation code.

You have a coupole of options here.
first you can contact the place where you got it from and tell them what is going on and see if they can help you or look here the activation code (placed on the inside of the stickers) is where it is supposed to be at. if not i would contact the tom tom manufacture for further help ok?

most likely your cell phone is not fully compatible. TomTom tests phones, as all phones are differnet,and work on different platforms....they will only put a phone on the list tha works at all times, If they test a phone and it works, but then stops working out of the blue like yours is or after software updates are performed on the unit itself....then the phone is not compatible....

you can still try to pair it....hard resest ( not soft rest) your device and then repair the phone and the unit again.

Your best option as silly as this may sound is Ebay

if it is just the touch part that too is available

download the update software from the garmin website; http://www8.garmin.com/support/download.jsp then plug your GPS system(using the cable provided) into the computer with the software update on it and click the WebUpdater and it will walk you thru the procedures.

Did you run out of memory? Just it have an SDHC slot? If so install a 16GB card. Try again.

The screen shows an X when the navigation software on your TomTom is corrupted ... and it will not start (boot) up the device. Have you tried contacting TomTom Support, to have them walk you through this problem ? assuming you recently bought your TomTom and it is still on warranty.

do a google search for tomtom then connect it to your computer after installing tomtom home and it should automatically update, you will firstly need to set up an account with tomtom though. (free i think)
