I would like to know what my tonnage is for my Carrier AC unit. The model number is 38CKC042300
3 1/2 ton unit the 042 tells me.

the carrier unit runs fine for a while then stops and the `unit on' led flashes 4 times then repeats the 4 flashes and so on
model 42G250HF-1 i turn off the condensors breaker reseting the unit and then it works for a while 20 min to a few hours
as i am a mechanic in sydney australia, i can honestly say that the chance of you getting help via carrier is very very slim... the reason it is doing that is that it has a legitimate problem unfortunately i have a carrier 42g250h which is flashing 4 times aswell... i have been waiting now 10 working days for carrier to call me to tell me what the problem is... if you can afford to do it, throw the damn thing out and buy a new one, i hate to say it but even an LG will work better than these heaps of ****

the 2005 in the serial indicates year made not sure what month but if i had to guess i'd say May of '05

I have a Carrier 42G150H indoor unit for a split system and it has a fault. The green light on the front panel flases 5 times and then there is a delay and then it flashes 5 times...and so on.
Look on the back of the panel where the green light is located. You will need to remove the bottom panel of the furnace and on the back of the panel you removed there should be a breakdown of the codes as to what the flashing green lights mean. If the code list isn't there you should be able to obtain the code list online if not try to call a a/c company to see if they have a code list .
Good luck hope this helped you

I have a Carrier Aircon. Model 42QH12-C and it is displaying error code 5. The aircon stays on for a while (anywhere between 10-60mins) and then turns off and displays E5. If I just press the 'on/off' button the aircon then works for another short while and then stops and displays E5. This problem only started since I had the AC serviced. Please HELP!!
E5 Outdoor activation of compressor over heatprotection or motor lock
Please clean the condenser coil. And also check out door fan motor rpm. Rpm may be less due to weak capacitor. Replace it.If motor locked you have to replace new motor only.
If helpful, please write.

I need to know the tonnage of my carrier ac unit. I have serial and model number
Your Carrier 38CKC042 Air Conditioner has a cooling capacity of 3.5 Tons.
See the performance specs and cooling capacities for all different models of 38 CKC models listed at the Carrier Support page at the following link:
http://www.commercial.carrier.com/wcs/prod_physicaldata/0,2734,CLI1_DIV41_ETI4925_PRD657,00.html
And here is the Online Owner's Manual for that model from the Carrier website:
http://www.docs.hvacpartners.com/idc/groups/public/documents/techlit/OM38-51.pdf
To view the Support Page or the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated or the contents of the Owner's Manual.
You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents. You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary. Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, and then just follow the onscreen instructions to install it.
See the PERFORMANCE AND SIZING CHART at the support page and look beside your model (042) for the corresponding performance details, efficiency rating, dimensions, and weight.
Please comment back here to this page if you have any questions, have difficulty accessing the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.
Thank you very much and good luck.
Joe.

Where's the reset button on a carrier furnace blower?
There usually isnt a reset however there always is a auxillary limit and those are most always automatic reset but it is located on the blower housing. Whats going on is the blower trying to come on? If it seems like its not trying to come on find out where the wire connects to the circuit board take it off and check voltage you should have 120V. Let me know what you find ok.

H2 error code
Hi,
The power went off and then back on again... on the startup it shows you that your a set up for a 2 speed heat pump by showing you the H2 code.
Now you will have to just reprogram the t-stat again as you would if it was new...
Click here for the manual and programing instructions.
The good news is that there probably is nothing seriously wrong...
