A 3.5-ton Carrier CK....OK the run capacitor will be a 370 volt variety, likely 20 bucks tops....given that this is SINGLE capacitor dedicated to the compressor ONLY. A BIT more if (as is likely) it is a 3-terminal compressor/condenser motor capacitor. I assume you mean 'contactor' and this toy should be another $30+/- $5. (Hopefully the diagnosis you got was correct!) That aside, MOST folks in the residential realm use some sort of "flat-rate" system. Replacing the capacitor is ONE job and the contactor is another. If this is a commercial property (OR if you are aligned with a commercial entity), look for a contractor that will make the repair on a "time and materials" basis. One trip, 2 parts...time element should be MINIMAL. Good luck!

Have him bring the old one back as it is yours. Check for the megaferons it has and the capacitance rating. Problem is hooking up thie wires needs to be done with knowledge of the system. $60 for a capacitor, $1200 for a blown compressor if hooked up wrong. You decide

If you are using strip heat as seperate mode you must install a fan isolation relay which would be energized by emergency ht mode of stat.

Check the drain line coming from the coil. This is usually located above the furnace. It can be blown through or removed and cleaned out

1.5 ton is the 018. 3 ton is the 036.

The power went off and then back on again... on the startup it shows you that your a set up for a 2 speed heat pump by showing you the H2 code.
Now you will have to just reprogram the t-stat again as you would if it was new...
