I have a compact carrier pack 4 tons r410 50lx5000
Depending on what thermostat youhave and existing wires. Typically red and white are for heat and yellow andgreen are for cooling. On base of thermostat there should be initials stampedto identify wires by color. R. W. Y. G. Possible Rc. and Rh if so for most usesyou need to jumper these two together. You may have a blue wire instead ofyellow or green. If so just hook blue to y or g.
I can't turn of the
Reset breaker! Move to off then to on in your breaker panel box that provides supply power to the unit!
Carrrier Central heat and air. Model 38CKC042300,
Unfortunately no, this is one of three things.
1. Compressor is worn and is starting to pull to many amps to operate. Can possibly be fixed by putting a hard start kit on the unit, but will have to be done by a technician.
2. Compressor has an internal short and will have to be replaced.
3. Fuses bad or under sized. Max fuse size is stated on information plate on outside unit.
Sorry to hear about your troubles and hope you can get it fixed soon!
Carrier N3 flashes three times
Hello THECOOL The sensor is a freezestat sensing ice.Try a new air filter.Low air flow is a cause of freezing make sure the intake is not blocked and all the supply outlets are open.
A/c is not cooling as quickly as it use to. I
Outside coils can be cleaned with garden hose. Inside may be a challenge. If your furnace is an updraft, (meaning the air blows up), than you can crawl under the furnace through the hole under the furnace. The coil then can be brushed with a scrub brush. this will remove dust and hair. Take care not to smash the aluminium fins. They are fragile. I would not use any chemical on them if it can be avoided.
MY OUTSIDE CARRIER UNIT CLUNKS WHEN THE COMPRESSER
My CKC was doing the same thing and I thought it was the compressor slamming to a stop. Turns out it was the fan motor. I had a local company replace the motor and the sound is gone. That being said, it has now been replaced by blade vibration.. It just never ends!
I changed the thermostat and then the ac stopped
if this is a split system, go to the furnace or air handler. Shut off the power, remove blower door and find where thermostat wires go to control module.
Remove thermostat wires writing down where each one goes. Make a jumper wire and install it between r and y or r and y1.Put everything back together and turn on power. IF blower motor and ac start, you have
a low voltage wiring or thermostat problem.
If nothing happens then you either have no power to furnace, transformer
could be bad or you have blown a little 3amp automotive fuse that is
installed on the control board.
Dripping split air-con
If it is dripping at the coil it could be several things
-Dirty Air Filter
-clogged Condensate Drain
-Frozen Suction Line( the insulated one)
-Both lines sweating because there is a high temperature in which
the lines are located in.
When the thermostat turns off, the condensing unit
You most likely have a short. Start by removing the wire on the terminal marked y in the t- stat then see if it shuts down. Look in the air handler for wires touching together. I have also eound wires touching in the wall from the t-stat.
The outside unit will work only briefly and bring
Does the outside unit completley shutoff or does the
condensor fan keep on operating? If this is the case
the compressor could be overheating and shutting down. Try washing the condensor from inside out.
If you can read electrical diagram on the back of the
condensor electrical panel check to see if it has a
high pressure switch, if this is the case it probably
is cycling off this switch. Wash the Condensor and make sure the fan is operating.
If the big insulated line does not feel cool after 15 min. of operation you could be low on freon.
A/C does not cool like it used to, unit runs
sound like your system is under sized. for every 400 sq ft of living space you should have a ton of ac or 12000 btus. also check and see if your attic fan is working. any drafty windows or doors. your supply temp should be at least 20 deg colder then your return temp. also check your filter should be changed every three months this will help with air flow.
My home a/c will not start. i have the therm set
The contactor needs 2 power sources. 22ov sitting there waiting, and then 24v to close it. The 24v is referred tcoil wires. The 24 comes from the thermostat to the air handler inside, then leapfrogs outdoors to the condenser. Once in thecondenser it can run through low pressure switch also. The goal is to see where the 24v stops. Remove the 2strand wire from the unit (NOT the 220v) and see if 24v there. If not go back towards furnace...if it is there move on into the unit....if 24v is at contactor coil and it is not closed, then the contactor itself is bad.
