Dayton Motor and capacitors for Carrier AC Unit (model # 38ck030300)

I purchased a Dayton Motor (4M205G), and a Dayton capacitor (MPP2505370J) and I need to confirm the proper wiring setup to the capacitors and contactor. I have a 1.5 pole 30 amp 24VAC Definite purpose contactor from Mars.

Currently my compressor will not start, but I think I have something miswired.

The 2 brown wires to the cap in first legend is how they are wired electrically, inside that motor the run winding is common to that brown one they cappped off in the 2nd option, but the powers still going to Run.ommon and run get the juice either way, its just another way to do it, but electrically as to sides of power and where they go is no different, just different way to do it.you can run power in on the Run terminal on the run cap, the run winding and run cap and start cap if equipped are Run to Run to Run.So the hot leg for the run winding also goes to run on the caps, run to run to run.,run winding to run cap to run on start cap.

ignition proving failure

Carrier furnace Model #58PAV. I cannot find this on your list of products. Has an led code 34. We follow the instructions on the door, put it back together and it works fine for a while. This happens about every other month and I need to get it fixed once and for all. Its about to get very cold outside and I don't want to spend another winter in a freezing house.

Chandler that code is a flame sensor. Locate your flane sensor on that model I believe its on the left inside your combustion chamber where your burners are. Try to clean it do not use any solutions on it. If that don't work and still sane 34 error then replace flame sensor. Please let me know if you get any other codes. As usual turn off system by the electrical switch and be safe

carrier 58mvp furnace ecm motor is making viberating noises

Hi: I have a 4 year old carrier weather-maker infinity model 58mvp 060-14 furnace and in the past 2 weeks the ecm motor is sounding noisy and is veberating slightly when it is running. This is a new noise this heating season and since I have about 6 months of the five year total coverage warranty left on it, I'm wondering if this is a common problem and should I call for service? I know It is not the main blower motor itself that is making the noise because I have taken the front cover off the furnace and can feel the ecm motor viberating and the noise I hear is not there when the ecm is not running.
Thanks in advance for your advice.
Ron

ecms are pretty reliable and electronic failure is much more common than bearing or bushing wearout. i suspect the fins on the blower may be coming loose from their pressed on spline and that will start a vibration or shimmy or you could have thrown a weight that balanced the wheel . best to use to warranty to get a new wheel. good luck

change the capacitor. also check to see if the right amount of volts are getting to the unit. look at the contact and put your meter on the appropiate sides and see if its 220-240. if it is, good, then change your capacitor. If not, then stop and call someone who knows what they re doing with electricity. its supposed to get 220-240. if its only getting 110 or so, then your electric co. has a problem. you might want to let it set for a while and try to turn it back on and see eaht happens.......... aint no pro but had the same problems..............

Carrier 38tkb not working, but furnace is blowing

Hello i have Carrier Weathermaker 38tkb air conditioner unit. It's about 6 years old and when i got home today, the unit itself wasn't working. Although the blower fan in the furnace inside was blowing, the fan on the a/c unit outside was not moving. I can hear a humming sound coming from it and once in a while, you hear it trying to kick in (the lights in the house even dim a bit, which is unusual), but it never kicks in. The top center of the unit is extremely hot to the touch. I've checked the circuit breakers and even the pull out on/off switch on the box outside next to the unit and everything seems fine. Any help would be immensely appreciated ?
Thank you
Claudio

It is probably a capacitor problem. Check inside the outside unit. you will see a round cylinder with three groups of terminals on top. If the top of it is dome shaped it probably needs to be replaced. You can check it if you have a microfared tester. However if it is poofed out it probably is bad. If this is not the problem you will probably have to replace the fan motor.

out of the blue, my

out of the blue, my Carrier 38tkb fan is not working; we hear a humming sound inside the outside unit; the unit is 7-yrs old and had no issues so far; any idea where we could find a service manual (possibly for some diagnosis steps we could do)? I suspect the fan motor or one of the condenser being faulty...thanks!

Hello, if the compressor is running then it is either a bad capacitor or bad fan motor, an easy way. To check is try to spin the fan blade with a thin object, if this gets the motor going the capacitor is bad if not the motor is shot.
