Hi! the top thread keeps falling out of the

Are you holding both threads at the back of the pressure foot when you start each seam? This one thing will help to prevent lots of thread into rotary hook problems. You should hold the threads, start stitching for 3 stitches forward, 3 backwards, then at least five forward again before you release the threads, then continue to guide the fabric wit your hands as you seam. Provided you hold the thread tail when you start stitching there should be no reason why the thread is pulling from the needle.

Also check your top thread is not getting caught/snagged on something enroute to the needle and that your top tension dial is set to 5? Perhaps if you have tension turned right up, this would prevent top thread from feeding smoothly to the needle.

I have lost the manuel and do not know how to

First of all, here is the main Singer ONLINE SUPPORT AND DOWNLOAD page for your model:

http://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html

To view the Support Page just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated. Then type 2250 into the empty search box on the lower right hand side of the page and then click on SEARCH.

To download the Owner's Manual with operating instructions, just click on the FREE DOWNLOAD! button on the right hand side of the Singer support page for your model when you get there. Then when it asks you if you want to open or save the file, click on SAVE. Then choose a place on your computer to save the file like on your DESKTOP so you can find it easily later. Click SAVE and once the file download is complete, then click OPEN and you should then see the contents of the manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents. You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary. Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there.

Please comment back here to this page if you have any questions, have difficulty accessing the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

Thank you very much and good luck.

The wheel to drop my needle down (lg one) does not

Either the timing is way off or something is seized. Try to loosen the clutch (small wheel inside the large wheel) as if you were going to wind a bobbin. If the motor spins when you depress the foot control, the problem is drive train related, if not the motor may be the problem.

I have an old Singer,

Cotton reel on top, take the thread from the reel to the left and over the top guide, straight down throught the tension discs, back up to the take up lever making sure the lever is at the top, through the lever right to left, straight down through any guides and thread needle front to back.
To wind the bobbin, reel of cotton on top, bobbin on bobbin winder making sure it is pushed to the left, take the thread to the left and round the small wheel and back to the winder, wind the thread round a few times on the bobbin, push the windewr to the right, and loosen the stop motion in the balance wheel.

I am sewing stretch jersey

you need to use a stabilizer because the needle is pushing the material into the bobbin shaft and jamming it. Clean it out and oil your machine. Insert a new needle and totally rethread.

If you go to www.singerco.com and download a free copy of your manual, you can enlarge a great diagram on page 77 of your bobbin area and how to put it back together. I enlarged it to 200% and I think that it will help you immensely. Good luck

Machine wouldn't stitch. The bobbing keeps

it is your top threading, totally rethread, insert new needle (flat side face away from you) and do this test, with the presser foot up, pull top thread, it should pull smoothly, lower presser foot, pull top thread again, it should barely move. This should seat the thread in the tension discs.Try your top tension at 3.

How does the easy threading

Just follow your manual, it is very easy to thread. You do not have automatic threading. If you have a problem seeing the diagrams, go to www.singerco.com and download a free copy of your manual, (save it to your computer, so you will always have one). Now you can enlarge the diagrams and make it really simple to see just where the thread goes. Good luck

Is this a good machine for a beginner?

I think that it is a nice basic machine and not too complicated. If, you need a copy of your manual, it is available for free at www.singerco.com under the customer support tab. I think that you will have alot of fun with it and not have to worry about fancy electronics. Mechanicals are very hardy and survive beginners very well.

I cant get my bobbin to thread i have followed all

Try to adjust the needle , enough to catch the bobbins thread and not too close to avoid breakage. The needle might be in a higher setting.

The bobbin on my machine isn't working properly;

have you taken the bobbin case out and cleaned it. Its a simple process if you look directly at where the bobbin goes in you will see two latches one on either side of the bobbin case, release those and clean this area and oil it, reassemble and then reload. bobbin thread could be old or if the bobbin was wound on a different machine the tension could be wrong for this machine. when reassembling bobbin case make sure that all parts are seated corectly, also sometimes the actual case that holds the bobbin may need to be replaced, if its an older machine it could be worn.
