110volt makita drill reversible, how
Hi, jsehlin,
Either put the drill in a vise or clamp it down with the chuck sticking out.
Open the chuck all the way and unscrew the retaining screw inside by turning it "clockwise".
Put the short end of an allen wrench in the chuck and tighten it down as you would a drill bit. Hit the long end of the allen wrench that's sticking out with a hammer so you are turning the chuck counterclockwise. This will loosen it so you can twist it off by hand.
Put your new chuck on and open the chuck fully. Screw in the retaining screw "counterclockwise". The chuck will seat itself during the first use.
Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Thanks,
Handie Andie
Charger doesn't charge anymore
If you are comfortable with removing the upper half of the housing, unplug charger and remove the screws, take a look at the circiut board for a "cold" solder joint or broken component, usually the round ceramic looking piece with the copper wire around it. but look at the whole board.
I have a 6011d cordless
You could try a screw extractor, the only problem is this may likely be a reverse threaded screw (probably why it was damaged in the first place) Try and jam(gently sort of) in a bigger hex wrench If it is beyond a hex wrench you could try to drill it out with a slightly bigger bit then the hex socket, but only drill down a little bit further then the socket hole originally was. Don't drill into the shaft of the screw. then try to screw a sheet metal screw into the hole. You want it to be big enough so it binds to the sides of the hole. Then as you tighten the screw you may loosen the hex screw.
I have a Makita 14.4v
Hi,
The chargers also go bad... in this case being that all of the batteries are showing bad I would be getting a new charger and trying that out...

How to remove chuck to open to replace switch
If you intend to replace the electric switch, there is no need to remove the chuck. Locate and unscrew all the screws on one side of the drill. Remember that some of them may be hidden behind labels. When all screws have been removed, gently peel the 2 halves of the cover apart along the center line, lifting the top half away nad leaving all the components in the half that stays on the table. The switch must be unsoldered at the terminal, or unscrewed iif applicable to your model. Fit the new one and reverse procedure.
How to change the chuck
go to the tip section and you will find detailed instructions or you can also go to my profile area and they are there also.

I can't get the drill
put the drill in a vise and using a pair of channel lock pliers grip the chuck and it should come loose will a little tug on the pliers
Led light does not go
not sure what the solution is but if you decide to open up the drill be very careful. all the guts only go in one way or the case won't close.
I cannot see where to
if it has removable batterys then you have to install in the charger, but if it has a different type there should be a charging port either on the underside or back of the drill. Let me know the model number and I will be more specific
