Rolex Submariner 16618 Wristwatch - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
How do you know how much to wind the watch
Your watch needs a service. Options are to send it to Rolex or to bring it in to a Rolex re-seller that offers watch repair. You do not have to send it to Rolex. Expect to pay between $200-$500 depending on what may need to be replaced.
How do I check my watch is real
Take it to a watch repair center. They are making very nice knock off today with decent Autowind mechanisms in them. Hope this helps.
I need to take the movement out of my ladies
Don't know why this is posted under a Rolex issue or why you would be taking the movement out of this watch. I would suggest taking the back off if you haven't already. The movement is connected to the crown, so basically if you're going to take out the movement, you're going to end up breaking the watch. If you're trying to replace the battery, this can be done without removing the movement. I would suggest bringing it to a jeweler. They can replace the battery for ~$10.
Rolex oyster submarine model 62510H .NEED TO KNOW THE YEAR
Actually the information from Ironfist109 is incorrect. Rolex has the serial number between the lugs at the six o'clock position. The number between the lugs at the 12 o'clock position is the caliber number. Shouldn't be anything on the caseback, very rare with Rolex. Often is a good indicator it may be fake actually!
I have submariner Rolex watch and when I unscrewed
These watches are selfwinding so you should not have to use the crown to wind it up. (Although some watches have this as an alternative).
To wind it up shake it gently from side to side for some minutes and it should start.
No tension on the crown wheel is worrying. If you pull it further out and can adjust the time in position 3 (fully out) and the date (half way out), then it may be that no damage has been done. If you cannot adjust the time, then it looks like a trip to the dealer is required for repair.
Good luck!
When advancing the date with the crown and stem,
You should just take the watch into a good Jewelry Repair shop, and they should be able to tell you what's going on. I doubt the problem is anything you could fix yourself, so let the pros suggest how to get it repaired.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Sounds like a defective balance wheel.
It is my understanding that they are designed to have some temperature compensation built into them. If this fails, (it will warm with use, making the balance wheel bigger and thus slowing it down), then perhaps this is causing your problem.
Whatever the cause, it sounds like a job for Rolex.
