Installation Steps:

Locate the Audio/Video inputs on the back of the TV.

Slide the Power Switch on (toward Game Pak).

Pokemon stadium said that i need pak but i have one

Verify that only licensed accessories are being used with the system. Unlicensed products are not fully compatible with Nintendo systems, and may not work correctly.

Check the game pak manual or packaging to verify that the game is designed to be used with the N64 Transfer Pak.

Make sure the Game Boy game pak works properly in a Game Boy system. It may be a problem with the Game Boy game pak and not the Transfer Pak.

Verify that the game paks are inserted in both the control deck and the N64 Transfer Pak. If they are not, insert them and then turn the control deck power off and back on again.

Verify that the controller is plugged into the proper controller socket on the front of the control deck. If it is not, secure it and then press reset on your control deck.

Remove and re-insert the N64 Transfer Pak, making sure the pak is fully inserted into the bottom of the controller. If it is not, secure it and then press reset on the control deck.

If possible, try another controller. If the Transfer Pak works in another controller, it may be the controller that is having a problem. Check out controller troubleshooting (click here).

If the issue persists, the Transfer Pak may need to be replaced. For information on locating replacements for older products, please click here.

N64 powers up but no sound or video

Nintendo 64 - Blank Screen Troubleshooting

Quick Tip:
If your system is connected using AV cables and you cannot see the game on your screen, it is likely all you need to find is the input select on your TV or VCR. Link here for help.
Make sure your system is hooked up correctly. This is the number one reason for a blank screen. To ensure all hookup connections are firm and correct, remove the AV cables and reinsert them with a slight twisting motion (this will help fully seat the connections). For more information about connecting the system, check the following hookup steps:

Audio/Video Cable to a TV
Audio/Video Cable to a VCR
Make sure you are using all licensed accessories with your system. Unlicensed products are not fully compatible with Nintendo systems and may not work correctly.

Make sure the system has power. If you don't see the red power light when you turn your system on, go to the No Power Light instructions.

Slide the Power Switch on the Control Deck to the OFF position. Remove the Game Pak and re-load it, pressing firmly to ensure it is locked in place. Slide the Power Switch on the Control Deck to the ON position. (Inserting the game with the Power ON will result in a blank screen.)

Check under the Memory Expansion door (on the top of the Control Deck) to verify that the Jumper Pak or Expansion Pak is still inserted. If one is not inserted, slide the Power Switch to the OFF position, insert the Jumper Pak or Expansion Pak and slide the Power Switch to the ON position. Simply pressing reset will not solve the problem. You must turn the power off and then back on.

If the above steps do not resolve the problem you are experiencing, there may be a problem in one of your hookup cables and not your system. Try purchasing a new connection cable (how to buy replacement parts). You can also try borrowing the cable from a friend to see if it solves your problem before purchasing a new item.

If this does not resolve the problem you are experiencing with your system, your system may need to be replaced. For more information on what options are available, please click here.

Well I had the same problem a week ago do I cleaned out the game packs and the game pack reader out with qutips and rubbing alcohal and I tried the game and the expansion pack on my black N64 console and every thing was fine so it probably was a glitch then for my aqua N 64 console it works now. When I keep on turning on my N64 console it says that one of the memory card in controller 2 and 3 is corrupted attempt to fix or continue with out saving

So I cleaned out the memory cards and the part in the controllers that attach a memory card card too with qutips and rubbing alcohal and they were fine after that then. It could be that or it might be bad memory cards so buy new ones then. Or the controllers could be having issues so buy new controllers or the system might have something wrong with it that needs to be fixed.

I can't seem to get

Nintendo 64 Power Problems

Make sure you are using a licensed AC Adapter (the system's power cord). The name Nintendo should be molded into the actual AC Adapter unit. Unlicensed products are not fully compatible with Nintendo systems and may not work correctly. Also ensure all accessories connected to your system are licensed as well. (Expansion Pak, Controllers, Rumble Pak and Controller Pak.)

Make sure you are not using any game enhancing devices. Such devices are unlicensed and are not recommended by Nintendo, as they may not let your system function properly.

Firmly plug the AC Adapter into the AC Power Supply port on the back of the Control Deck and firmly plug the AC Adapter into the wall outlet.

Make sure your wall outlet works. To check it, try plugging a lamp into the same outlet where your system was plugged in. Turn the lamp on the verify the outlet works. Also, make sure you are not using an outlet that is operated from a wall switch. If you do, make sure the wall switch is in the ON position.

Slide the Power Switch on the Control Deck to the ON position.

If it still does not work, you'll need to RESET the AC Adapter. To do this, remove all the accessories (including the Game Pak and all controllers) from the deck. Unplug the power supply from the wall outlet for at least 30 seconds, then plug it back in. If your system works without the Game Pak and controllers plugged in, there may be something defective with either the Game Pak or one of the accessories. Turn the power off and plug ONE accessory into your system, then turn the system on to see if it still works. Repeat this process with ONE accessory at a time to see if you can figure out which accessory may be in need of repair.

If these steps do not resolve the symptoms you are experiencing with your system, your system may need to be replaced. For more information on what options are available, please click here.

Iv had an n64 before

Adjust the vertical or horizontal hold controls. This is helpful even if regular TV stations come in fine. If your TV has an automatic fine tuning control (called AFC or AFT), turn it OFF. Use the manual fine tuning dial to adjust the picture. If turning OFF the AFC/AFT causes your TV to display in black and white, then leave the AFC/AFT ON. Slide the Power Switch on the Control Deck to the ON position. While the control deck remains ON, turn the TV off for 10 second then back on again. This resets your AFC/AFT so that it will tune in the signal from the control deck.

Move your control deck farther away from your TV. If the control deck is too close to the TV, the control deck may cause some interference.

I hooked up my n64

Make sure you are using all licensed accessories with your system. Make sure both the controller is licensed and any accessories you are using with the controller (Rumble Pak, Controller Pak) are licensed as well. Unlicensed products may not be fully compatible with our systems.

Slide the Power Switch on the control deck to the OFF position and unplug the controller. Plug the controller back in, making sure the controller-plug is firmly inserted into socket one (on the left front ofthe control deck). Slide the power switch on the control deck to the ON position.

If possible, try another controller in the left-hand port. If you have a second controller, repeat Steps 1 through 3. If the trouble disappears, the first controller may need to be replaced. For information on locating replacements for older products, please click here.
