Check the elements first, also check the hi-limit switch and the thermostat, then check the elements the machine might have been low on water at one point.

First make sure you have enough water in the machine. It holds about 2 and a half pots of water in the holding tank. If the machine sits for a week without use but is still plugged in, sometimes the water will evaporate down to the point where pouring one pot of water in, will not fill the tank back up. If you still don't get a water flow, take the brew funnel out and reach up where the water normally comes out, There is a round water dispenser about 2 inches in diameter. Unscrew it by turning countercloclwise. It has a dozen or so holes where the water come out. Be sure these holes are not stopped up. There is a small pipe fitting where you took the water dispenser off. Bunn makes a long spring like thing that fits into this hole to remove built up lime deposits. If you don't have one you can use a flexable wire like braided copper wire about 18 inches long to push through the hole and slide it back and forth until it comes out clean. If you have hard water, like well water you may be getting a lot of calcium build up in the tank. Put about a quart of vinegar in the next coffee pot and let it sit an hour. Pour water through the machine until it stops smelling like vinegar. That should solve your problems.

Somewhere inside you should find a small rotary thermostat. Also make sure the heating element is completely clean by using a quality descaler like CLR. A lot of people use white vinegar but it is not that effective on coffee makers. Make sure the heating element under the carafe is working, because that is heating up as the coffee is brewing. ..

unplug machine and turn upside down and pour out coffee and water mix (if water was in reservoir) If necessary turn over and fill will water and repeat.

Replace and run a pot of clean water thru it.

Normally that would be an easy fix if the water just continued to flow. You just replace the water inlet valve and they can stick open or partially open. But you say if you power off, the flow stops. That sounds like the control board is supplying residual power to it. Control boards are expensive so I would call for service. Not sure your model name is correct and we always need numerical model names here. Bunn are such a well known name in coffee machines, I find it disappointing that they say ANY machine is not repairable. I have the identical problem, and I noticed it this morning after there were 2 very brief (seconds) power outages the previous night. Reading around the internet I read that the fuses inside the unit are the likely culprit, and need to be replaced. You can buy fuses made by others, for this unit. But not from Bunn. And there are video instructions around that show how to do it. The fuses are crimped on, not soldered. Mind you, I haven't tried to do this, yet, but that's what I read. Good luck!

I thought these are pour over brewers? Which means you have to fill it with water in order to brew?
