Dirt devil carpet steamer diverter valve not releasing for furniture attachment

Hi there! If the trigger or valve are sticking this can be an indication that the valve may be clogged with soap residue. Try soaking the trigger end in warm water for a few hours. When you use the hose again, be sure to prime the trigger by pumping it about 30 times then squeezing it for 30 seconds to get the solution to flow. Hope this helps!

What? I have a Dirt. Devil easy steam carpet shampooed model CE 6300 HD. It was working great and then just stopped spraying out cleanser/water! Is there a manual or does anyone know how fix this pro

Hello! You may need to prime the trigger to get the solution to start flowing. To do this, recline the handle and pump the trigger about 30 times. Then, turn the cleaner on and hold the trigger in for 30 seconds. The solution should begin to dispense. Be sure you are only using the cleaning products specified for use with this unit. Hope this helps! If you still need assistance feel free to reach out to use here on Fixya, Facebook.com/dirtdevil or Twitter @DirtDevil.

Why will my Dirt devil easy steamer not releasing cleaning solustion

Hi! You may need to prime the trigger to get the solution flowing. To prime the trigger recline the handle and pump the trigger vigorously about 30 times. Power the cleaner on and hold the trigger in for 30 seconds. Be sure you are only using the Dirt Devil cleaning products intended for use with this machine. Using something other than the specified detergent can clog the lines that deliver the solution. If your cleaner still isn't dispensing you can take it in to a Dirt Devil authorized service center for repair. I have included a link where you may go to locate a service center near you. Hope this was helpful!

Steamer has quit steaming. I

Any device that actually makes steam should use distilled water. You are boiling away the water to make steam. Everything in the water that is not water will remain in your 'boiler'. So, what to do now ... treat it with vinegar. Vinegar should disolve the minerals left in your boiler.

I have a Dirt Devil

I'm not sure what the other expert has told you but the only way to test for a short circuit would be using a multimeter and measuring the resistance of the motor, but to do this you would need to know what the reistance of a good motor is.

The other way would be to use a Megger Tester and inject a voltage into the motor.

Either way I don't think you'll gain anything by carrying out any test as there can only be a short in the switch, cable or motor.

Looking at the cable for any damage should tell you if this is where the short is.

If you disconnect the motor and make the ends you've disconnected safe (cover with insulation tape) then plug the unit in and switch on. If the circuit breaker still trips then the fault is with the switch or cable, if it doesn't then the fault is with the motor.

If you try this and let me know what happens we can move on from their.
