Have a Kent del rio women's bike that the chain turns but it will not turn the rear wheel. Almost like it would be in neutral

If the chain turns around but does not drive the rear wheel then the problem is with the rear cluster, called a freewheel. Either the internal parts are gummed up so that they no longer move freely in order to drive the wheel or they are broken, the first being more likely. The first thing to try is to remove the freewheel (requires a special tool) and ether submerse it in mineral spirits or run the solvent through the freewheel. Best done at a shop.

Bike ID by serial number - How to determine the year, value, etc. of your...

Some of the most common bicycle questions on Fixya are related to asking for information on the age, value or make/model of a bicycle or bike frame. Many times those inquiries include the serial number of the item. Unfortunately the serial number is usually of little or no use. Unlike the VIN of a car, there is no universal system for assigning serial numbers to bicycles. Even within a single brand the bikes are often made at different locations and even different countries, so the serial number may be completely different for different models. The serial number is primarily of use to the manufacturer in the case of recalls or quality control, to the dealer for their recordkeeping and warrantee claims, and for consumers and police to identify a stolen bike. Few manufacturers release any information at all regarding serial numbers, and then often for only a limited amount of bikes. Nevertheless there are some brands that provide info on serial numbers, and although Public databases are hit or miss, and oriented primarily to vintage/antique and higher quality bikes, but may be useful. To check whether information based on serial number is available for your bike, simply Google (brand/model) bike serial number. Note that if you are not successful in such a search it is extremely unlikely that a Fixya request will yield any information. Even if you do find your bike's serial number within a range on a database, you will likely gain little more knowledge than the model year. Schwinn and some other brands often have date codes on the head badge or head tube (where the fork goes through the frame to the handlebars) and if you find such a code you may be able to determine date of frame manufacture by doing a Google search for the brand name plus the words "date code." Be aware that knowing the age or model year is of limited value, except possibly when buy or selling in order to verify the information being presented. Condition and components affect value more than age, and just because a bike is 20 or more years old does not mean it is collectible - very few bikes are, and then only if they have original paint and most of their OEM parts. The make, model and year are also not needed to determine repair procedures or necessarily required for replacement parts, although knowing the OEM parts may help in determining compatibility. Many bikes share the same components (they are not made by the manufacturer of the bike) and one does not necessarily have to replace a part with it's exact match. In an older bike the OEM item may no longer be available. If a bike has been repainted identification is extremely difficult (and as noted above, not that important) and the value is lowered dramatically, unless it is a professional repaint and OEM decals have been applied. Many repaints are "rattle can" jobs that look poor and chip easily. As for how much your bike is worth, the best source will be your local Craigslist. Although prices listed for similarly equipped bikes will not tell you the final sale price, the prices listed will give you some idea. A second guide will be the price of the same or similar new bike. A used bike will sell for no more than 2/3 the price of a new one, more typically 1/2 or less. Appearance and mechanical condition greatly affect the price that can be asked, as well as demand/supply for that type of bike. Finally, as with any inquiry on Fixya, it is extremely helpful to specify why you want the info you are requesting (what the original problem is) as there may be a better way to address the concern you have than the focus of your question.

Bicycle made by Campania serial number 04557 what year was it made and how much id it worth

Campania made a variety of models, but even the high-end were nothing special. Mass produced frames made in Japan and assembled in California in the 70's. No way to tell value without multiple pics and model name, but likely to be between $50 and $100 if very good mechanical and appearance condition I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/donald_f2ed37026a3ac881

I have a schwinn a20 bike and it makes a clicking or knocking noise when I pedal. Any idea?

Mine had the same noise from the time I bought it, and since none of the answers I have found anywhere have been helpful, I tore into it yesterday and I narrowed it down to the plastic tension wheel on the belt. I was able to completely eliminate it by taking it off, knocking the bearings out, removing the small spacer between the bearings, and reassembling it. Noise is gone and it works great now.

What are the best electric bicycles/brands on the

Best" ? As an industry adviser, I hear this question all the time.
what is really important is what is best for your needs; some folks need mammoth hill climbing, others need great range, others want light weight.
The Ezee brand ebikes, and Bionx are pretty darn good.
I zip/schwinn is having warranty problems.
Giant if you need great range and nationwide service.
Be careful with crystalyte in the rain unless you get the go hub.
Make SURE that diagrams, skilled repair people, parts and a warranty are available.

many folks are disappointed that there is no service and their $1200 investment is useless after the first minor problems.

Below are very good dealers. say **** sent you

Ok I have a 47 cc 49 cc kids atv 4 stroke ,while turning motor over it keeps backfiring and won't start

Timing. Check the timing. If you can't dial it in with a timing light, then, the timing chain/belt has slipped. But, before you go thru the hassle of replacing that, check the spark plug wiring to make sure they fire in the right order. (This does assume more than one cylinder.)

The more gears the better the bicycles?

Not Necessarily... If you are not a professional athlete then the number of gears you have does not really matter. What matters is the range of the gears. You need low enough gears for going up hills and high enough gears for inclines.

Difference between a fixed gear and single speed bicycle?

Single speed bikes are often known as Fixed gear or fixie bikes. But Most people don't know the difference between a fixie and a single speed bike. It's all in the hub Mechanically, the difference is so small that you might not spot it even when you are looking for it. It all comes down to the rear hub and how the single cog is connected to the rest of the drivetrain. Single speeds are fitted with a freewheel cog that rotates freely one way but locks up the other. This means that the cog will turn the rear wheel when you pump those pedals, but then freewheel when the rear wheel starts turning faster than the cog - much like a geared bike. When it comes to Fixies, it has no mechanism on the hub. The cog is fixed into the hub. If the rear wheel turns, the cog turns, and if the cog turns, the pedals turn with that. I admit the difference is not so small, but one that has a huge effect on how a bike rides and requires some consideration before you decide on a bike.
