Hey. I have two PS210's One popped and stopped working 9 months in to it. Under warranty the technician said that Infinity produced these speakers wit ha known heat related problem. Some part burns up. He replaces them all the time. You can expect about a year's service as my seconf one just popped and died. It costs about $153 to fix it here in phoenix. Will never buy Infinity again from what I know
My fairly new and lightly used PS210 Inf.
for first check out if all the connections are connected properly.so remove all the external wires connected to the unit and then reconnect all the wires again and check out.if the problem is still there then its the circuit board problem.
in the unit there is circuit board.on that circuit board there are number of tiny electronic components.the components are IC, capacitor, transistors ,etc etc .if any of this components gets loose, leaked or faulty ,or its got burned out.then due to this a same type of noise comes out from the unit.checking that component and replacing that component helps to solve this problem.normally this components are not very costly.but as you mentioned that the unit is under warranty.then its advisable to get it repaired or replaced by the company itself because if you yourself get it repaired then this will void the warranty.
This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya.

Dec 26, 2009 - I picked up an Infinity Servo Subwoofer yesterday, but not quite sure as to how to ... The SSW-210 or SSW-212 have two drivers and no port.
Infinity tss 750 sub-woofer when powered on immediately pulls speaker in and has loud humming. no inputs hooked up, only plugged in to ac power source.
The loud humming is the sound of AC mains - clearly your amplifier is receiving an input from somewhere and possibly into the front end.
The hum could be induced by radiated energy from nearby unshielded equipment, it could be the result of an accidental hum-loop or could be because the amplifier power supply has a fault.
It is usual practice with amplifier construction to ensure unused inputs are shorted to ground by switching or by additional contacts and wiring at the input sockets. High gain high impedance inputs can cause a great deal of unwanted noise if they are not shorted.
I suggest you read the instruction manual and perhaps Google a few hints and tips about amplifiers and stuff.
