Have you tried taking the disc to a shop that offers a layer-skimming service, such as Blockbuster? This will "skim" a layer from the disc, making it seem brand new. I always do this when my games get a bit scratched or no longer work.I hope this is of some help to you! =)

When you pulled the controller, and the Xbox made the "weird noise" it was probably caused by the game sliding out of the tray. This can happen when a disk is spinning in the console and the console suddenly jerks in any direction.

There are two things you can try..

One method is to run a cd and dvd lens cleaning disk inside the Xbox itself..

The second method is to try cleaning the Game Mass effect itself.. Use one of those cd cleaning kits on it..

If it still doesnt work, then try borrowing or renting a copy of the game and see if the other copy will work..

I usually go to Google Search and type something like "Microsoft Flight Simulator X win xp activate crack torrent". Before you do this go to www.utorrent.com and get the standard windows installer not the web version.
