My wireless guitar is working but it keeps asking for a microphon

It could be that the joystick controller needs to be remapped to a different location. The microphone overlays the joystick, but if the stick is mapped to one port and microphone is mapped to another you can get this sort of conflict.

PS3 Guitar Hero World Tour Microphone stopped working

POSTED @ 1713 (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) FEBRUARY 6, 2009 BY JOEBOBMCSLOB:

I know it's frustrating but here goes:

  1. Get a PS3 camera (PLAYSTATION EYE - is what mine says on the back). Not sure if it HAS to be the one from Sony (Playstation Eye) or if any other will work, but my PS3 camera from Sony I bought did work perfectly for this "crack"
  2. Unplug the Guitar Hero microphone and set it off to the side somewhere. IT MUST BE UNPLUGGED FROM THE PS3 FOR THIS TO WORK
  3. Go into the Guitar Hero game and plug in your PS3 camera, the blue light on the camera will come on
  4. Now plug in the Guitar Hero microphone
  5. Now go to the training mode, or start a band, or whatever you want and you will see that the vocals are enabled
  6. Simply unplug your PS3 camera and you can use the microphone that came with Guitar Hero, like you're supposed to be able to
I know this is a BAD, BAD, BAD experience for you to go through, but I think it had something to do with PS3 system updates after they released all the hardware and software for Guitar Hero III. Hopefully you didn't return all your gear already...

I don't work for Sony, I'm an electrical engineer/gamer hobby enthusiast.

Hope that helps!

Cheers!

When my son tries to

The flashing lights on the controller mean the guitar is not connecting to the wireless usb dongle connected to the PS3.

1. Verify that the wireless box is plugged in firmly to the usb port on the front of the PS3.

2. If that doesn't work, look on the wireless usb dongle for the guitar hero guitar controller. (It should be a black box with the guitar hero logo on it. You will find a small push button on the dongle. (Make sure your PS3 is turned on, though your guitar hero game does not have to be open. It may be a good idea to have the game running, so you can test your guitar or make sure it is really working). Press and hold the button on the wireless usb dongle for a few seconds. Five seconds should be enough. Doing this attempts to re-connect the dongle and the controller. You will know when the connection is good when the red lights on the controller go steady, as well as the LED on the small button you pressed on the wireless usb dongle. If either lights continue to blink, there is a connection problem still.

3. Try changing the batteries in the guitar controller. Weak batteries tend to cause connection issues.

4. Test the wireless usb dongle and controller with another PS3. This will rule out an issue with your PS3 system.

5. If the problem still occurs on another PS3, the wireless dongle may have gone bad. (This does happen rarely.) Replacements are cheap to find on ebay

Guitar Hero Drum Set Common problem

hello guys, i just wanna share with u one of the most annoying problem in the drums its the pedal, some times while u r playing on guitar hero drums hiting the notes its suddenly start kicking the pedal by it self and u cant continue playing because of that, what i want to tell u that before u react to that by start opening the pedal to fix it, you should first make sure that the pedal itself is damaged or not. just follow the steps ok.
1- remove the pedal and replace anything on the behalf of it like your headsets, just put anything in its place on the drums location and start a game and play and hit on the drums as hard as u can and see if the pedal is still kicking when ur hitting the red, green, blue drums if YES then its not the pedal its the drums itself, if not then u have to fix the pedal, i will tell u how later ok. 2-now after using some other device and finding that the pedal is ok and ur having this problem, just flip the drums and remove all the screw at the back ( trust me its so safe and easy) now open the drums and and go to the place where the pedal made to fit in u will see a chips and a screw in the middle, just screw lift ( most of times while ur playing and because of the heavy hitting on the drums the screw get relaxant so all u have to do is tight it up very well and it will solve the problem. 3- get everything back as it was and enjoy good and AWESOME play like if its brand new drums :))) hope i was very helpful
and about fixing the pedal if it was damaged flip and remove the first gray label its some kind sticky but its ok just remove it and u will find 2 screw remove then and go back to the front where the wire goes inside the pedal push it inside and then push it up it will be removed and there u will find 2 wires they may need to get fixed its easy weld the damaged wire and everything is ganna be FINE

Guitar hero world tour guitar for ps3 controller not active.

You can get in touch with the manufacturer and let them know it isn't working properly and they should send you out a replacement. I know a lot of people who have done that before and got a new guitar.

How do i hook up guitar hero aerosmith to ps3

Same way would would with the other PS3 verisons. But the guitar it self has to be Wireless or have the adapter to play it off the unit USB. The adapter is made to be for previous verisons of the Playstation who didnt have the wireless controllers. If you are wanting to play the PS2 verison of this game on your PS3, you will need to get the adapter, or the PS3 wireless guitar.

Guitar thinks its a microphone

We had this same problem - it required remapping the controller in the PS3 menus, because the microphone overlays one of the controllers.
