How much water do i put in this steamer

There is a water level indicator and you must use according to the amount of ironing you have in mine. If there is a whole lot fillit up to the full limit mark , if less use less just for an emergency.
Hope you get this right. Good day

I have an older model steam generator iron:

Hi.
Parts for this steamer are not longer available.
If the steamer does not heat enough, and it is very slow heating, then you can still try fixing the problem by descaling the steamer several times. Scale accumulating on the heating element may reduce heating causing this problem. If problem is scale, then the steamer had gone worsening in time.
If the fault appeared suddenly, then it is not scale. In that case it is the heating element or the thermostat.
Parts in that case must be taken out and tested using a multimeter on impedance, to read if the parts circuit is open (faulty).
The difficult part of the repair will be finding a compatible part, best thing to do is asking to a local small appliance retailer with part in hand.
Other solution is buying a new steam generator. If you want Europro, you can get a G6200 from $99 (RRP $150).
Regards.

I have a craftman generator

Depends on cost of new engine, generator, and engine repairs. Personally, I would look at northerntool.com as well as harborfreight.com to find a replacement. Both have retail locations, might be one nearby and you can save the shipping charge.

Water and iron heats up but no steam comes out.

there is most likely a small port where some particles have clogged...fill reservoir with vinegar and water (50/50) and allow to soak 24 hrs, then reheat then shake vigorously to drain then rinse then retry
