Shark troubleshooting

Pour all the water out of the iron, and fill it with white vinegar. Heat it and let it spit vinegar for a while. Chances are there is simply a bunch of crud in the iron from the water, most likely calcium carbonate. The vinegar is the cheap and easy fix, but if that does not do it you;ll have to bring out the "Big Gun" and use some "CLR" cleaner, available at most grocery or hardware stores. "CLR" stands for "Calcium, Lime and Rust", and a small jug of it is about $6 USD, It will clean the crud out for sure. Ironing seems to be a "lost art". Congratulations on being a smart desser!

How to clean siemen extreme power iron

A solution of white vinegar and water is a good cleaner for irons. Steam irons get clogged with mineral deposits, and vinegar works well to dissolve those deposits. Make a 50/50 solution of the vinegar and water and pour it in the iron, and place the iron on steam, allowing the solution to work thru the iron. You may have to do the cleaning a few times, depending on how clogged the iron is. For future reference, use distilled water in the iron, because distilled water does not contain any significant amount of minerals. Distilled water can be found in the supermarket in one gallon jugs.

Iron will not stay on

More than likely your power cord has a broken wire. Plug the iron in and mover the cord around. See if you can find the broken wire. Typically where the cord comes out of the iron and right at the plug. Or replace the whole cord. Your local hardware store, youtube, or menards can show you how. Very easy to do. I tend to stay away from home depot.

Cord has a short in it

You'll have to remedy or better replace the cord. Just buy similar to hardware store and put it to your iron. It's simple to replace and you have to have a analog tester to be able to test the cord without plug-in to AC wall voltage.
Thanks for asking.

Will not power up

Hello,

First thing you have to do is to check the power cable if it is okay, the power cable normally have fuse which you have to check, if otherwise you have to open the Iron to check for the faulty part, The Iron consists of three parts namely the element, the thermostat and the fuse, so check the one after the other with the use of a multimeter to which is bad or not in which it will be replaced...

Hope this will helpout in solving the problem....

My sharp g1435 steam iron

Hi, i think you are experiencing a faulty thermostat which is gradually failing to regulate the heat produced by the element in the iron beyond a certain level as you have said. Or it may also be as a result of the contact to the element at the base of the iron are broken which makes the high setting inaccessible...
Let an electrical technician check it out....
