You will have to dismantle ipod and clean any corrosion of motherboard(may be causing shorting) with a soft toothbrush and some isopropanol alcohol also bottom of dock connector.Have a good look under a magnifying glass to see if any physical corrosions of pins etc. Dry off board and reassemble with new battery.
Try it out.
Some pins etc depending on corrosion my need resoldered.
First thing to go is the charging circuit on the battery when wet.

How is ipod connected to bluetooth?
A Bluetooth transmitter (or radio) is hardware and is built into a Bluetooth-enabled product during the manufacture.of that device. A Bluetooth-enabled device can connect to another Bluetooth-enabled device to establish communication between them, but there is no Bluetooth network, the way there are wireless (WiFi) networks to which a WiFI-enabled device can connect. Bluetooth is short-distance (33 feet/10 meters between the Bluetooth devices) method of wireless communication.
Hope this helps.
What do I do if all my music disappeared from my iPod Classic while I was trying to sync and now my computer no longer recognizes my device?
It could be a failing hard drive. if windows doesn'd see it in my computer, or it doesn't show up in finder, and it doesn't show up in iTunes especially, these are all signs. Try restarting the device by pressing and holding menu and center until the apple logo appears. now press and hold center and >ll as soon as the logo appears. this is disk mode. you may try to connect the device when it is in this mode. to exit this mode, simply reset again by pressing menu and center and holding till the apple logo appears.
secondly, try restarting the device by pressing Menu+center at the same time till the apple logo appears. when the loo appears hold center and << . hit menu once you're at the diagnostic screen. scroll to IO. scroll to hard drive. perform a test.
How do I unlock my ipod 160 gb
Toggle the switch. If that doesn't work, hold the lock and home button simultaneously for approximately 10 seconds or until the apple logo appears on the screen. This is called a hard reset by some, but shouldn't cost any of the data on the device as a factory reset would. If that doesn't work post again and I will give some more steps. Make sure your device is charged and try more than one charging cord in case that is your problem. Hope this helps!
My son's ipod will charge just fine on computer, but will not charge on a car charger. What's wrong?
I'm not quite certain what you mean by "car charger",
If you mean a battery charger which is used to charge a 6 or 12 volt automotive battery, your device's protection circuits will read an incorrect amperage, and refuse the connection.
If you mean the device will not charge by connecting the cord to the cigarette lighter outlet (or other 12Volt outlets), you should check that the cords' side contacts are coming out as they should, these often fail to engage because the mechanism is a bit wimpy.
You can use the tip of a pen to slide under the contacts and gently pry then out.
then try re-connecting the device, and see if it will charge.
If it is still not charging, be certain the front contact is fully extended, if not, grasp it gently with a pair of needle nosed pliers, and pull it (again gently is the operative term), if it comes out 1/8th to 1/4 inch.
Plug it in and it should work.
Be certain and that the tip is clean (a light touch with fine sandpaper, (or a little scrape with your knife) should do just fine.
If you still are not getting the charge, try using the cord which does work on the other device, the problem could be in the cord itself.
If you have a multimeter check the end of the cord which plugs into the device for proper voltage, the control circuits in the cord itself may be malfunctioning, in which case a new cord it needed.
I hope I've been of help, if not please feel free to try for another answer.
Good Luck!

Nothing comes on the screen, it does not conect to the computer, it seems dead
I found this solution to work. Try this first:
a) Get Windows to restart the drivers:
- disconnect your USB device and close ITunes
- connect your USB device
- if ITunes loads, close it.
b) File explorer:
Open File explorer and browse to
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
In that folder there should be a set of files named "usbaapl64...."
right click on the one ending in "INF"
Select Install. It's very quick.
remove the USB device
c) Restart the computer.
When you login again, load ITunes before you attach your USB device.
d) If still not works, try re-install iTunes. Go into the Unstall Programs (in Control Panel) and uninstall everything that says Apple, and uninstall Bonjour. With the fresh install of iTunes, everything came back and is should work. Hope it helps.
f) If you just want to add some photos, songs and movies from computer to your devices, you can use an iTunes alternative to do the job
