Cerwin-Vega! CLSC-12S Subwoofer. How do I bypass the shuttle switch on clsc-12s. Subwoofer

There are many possibilities. The relay control transistor may have defective that is causing permanent switch to relay. Relay may have stuck. The relay switch may have heavy carbon deposit on contacts. It needs detailed troubleshooting. I tried to find schematic diagram or service manual but could not find otherwise I could share for your help.

After turning on, even at

Perhaps its amp is overheating.

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Everything connected, no Sound

the sound booster chip got burnt....u need to replace with the new one...this occurs due to high and low voltages...
if warranty period is not over..the customer service people repairs for free of cost...
otherwise they r 2 solutions...
1.if u hav knowlede abt soldering, then open it and u can find the burnt one by seeing it...otherwise u can find using a multimeter,,..remove the burnt one get a new one (it will be very cheap)then solder it..it ll start working...
2.go to the local electronic repair center and get it repaired....

there r two ways for avoiding this kind of problem...
use a stabiliser or when u find the voltage fluctuating switch off it...nd start using it wen the voltage gets atable....

I have a cerwin vega subwoofer that keeps blowing the fuse

Take a look at the Voltage selector switch (if one is existing). It may be switched at the wrong position. In that case, I hope that the power supply is not burned out (if it is set at the wrong position).

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

Hits the brown note too often....

I recommend wearing these.

Alternatively, install a high-pass filter into the signal path to remove anything below 20Hz.

I was jam'n tunes through my Cerwin Vega RE 30 Series, sounding good, no forseen troubles. All of a sudden.... 'Poof' and I no longer have one speaker playing. Dead as dead can get. What happened?

channel in receiver might have gone out or did you blow fuse inside speaker - switch to other out put location to see if speaker is issue or receiver
