Hotpoint Microwave Model RVM1435BD 001- microwave comes on when I open the door.

Many microwaves have similar issues. Usually, (not always) only the light is on and the fan is running, not the section that produces the microwaves. This problem can be caused by the door switches that are out of alignment or a defective control board.

Sears sent me a diode for hotpoint microwave and a video for replacement and the video is different. Can't find the diode for MY Hotpoint rvm1435bk01 to see if it's the same to replace.

Most microwave diodes will work just fine from system to system. The most common ones I use are rated at 550ma. When you check your old diode what made you think it was bad? They are such a high rating you will not get a reading on it with a regular ohm meter. Mostly on HV rectifiers if it is not shorted ( Zero Ohms) it is probably good. If you have no high voltage then substitute it and see if you do get high voltage, then you know it was open. Follow the video and give it a try.

How can I get a copy of the manufacturer's installation instructions for a Hotpoint JX-81J over the range microwave oven?

JX-81J is the microwave recirculating charcoal filter for several models of GE and Hotpoint microwaves. The installation instructions will be available from the manufacturer with the model number of the microwave itself. One microwave that uses this filter is the RVM1535MMSA . See http://products.geappliances.com/ApplProducts/Dispatcher?REQUEST=HPSPECPAGE&Sku=RVM1535MMSA#tab1_ for all of the details on this microwave. The owner's manual, http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=39-40541-1.pdf , shows the installation of the filter on page 34. The guide for installing the microwave above the range is http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=39-40425.pdf . If you have a different microwave, add a comment with that model number. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

My Hotpoint microwave control panel will go off when it,s not in use. Sometimes tapping it will restart it , sometimes it restarts on its own

It may be a bad connection on the fuse holder, an intermittent fuse, a bad connection on one of the thermostats or elsewhere, or a bad connection on the control circuit board. If you want to contact me privately with the model number, I can give you or a friend free DIY troubleshooting help and I also do microwave control circuit board repairs. While cooking popcorn lastnight in

All that is required to crack/break an item that is microwave safe is a fine crack or deep scratch. Water will expand so quickly as the microwave energy heats up the water, it turns to steam and cracks the plate with the pressure build up.

Hotpoint microwave. Plate will not stop rotating

If you mean the plate will continue to turn as long as the microwave is plugged in to electricity, then you have a short in, or a defective circuit board or master control. Very few places repair these, particularly since they are often made overseas, and parts are not readily available. Often your only choice is replacement. God bless your efforts.
