Hand blenders have nylon gears in them so it will require a light grease. Use white lithium grease. Any petroleum based grease with degrade the composition of the gears, causing them to soften and the teeth to wear out or even strip.

Really odd, but could the motor be running in revere? I'm sure there would be no way you could set this to happen but it does sound like instead of screwi g the dough down, it is screwing it up.

under the handle there is a small plug pry out that plug and inside there is a hex screw requiring an allen key for the removal undo the screw and the handle will lift off the square shaft if the tap is old , it may require some effort as the handle may be corroded on the shaft

need to test the units components switch selector motor for damage or fail

First test the switch, it it is OK then check any of the safety switches.

remove the cartridge insert check for porosity in the casting around the seat area as there may be a small pin hole use a tap re-seating tool to true up the seat , then refit the insert

I would take it back to the store where you purchased it. They may even let you plug it in if you ask.

I know it is kind of late to answer this, but those who are looking anew for a solution to this problem might find this helpful so writing my experience. I also brought a Preethi mixie, 110V from India and in less than two uses of about 5-10min it stopped. I searched everywhere for a solution and even called service center in Chicago (yes, there is one in Chicago, IL) and finding it difficult to go there and get it repaired, I dared to open it. I am glad I did as I noticed a connector wire (with a plastic seal/insulator) is burnt. It is a simple fix and I cleaned the burnt part and carefully exposed the wire a little bit more and connected it back to the other wire as it is supposed to and put the insulator back in its place. I started the mixer and its working now :) I have been using it for a month now since I fixed it to make dosa batter, chutneys etc and it is still working. So I think this is the problem most of us had with mixer not working after few minutes of usage and even the overload button not working. Try this and let me know if this solved your problem. Contact service. Sounds like the oil eeal/wiper die needs replacing and this can be a pain to do.
