Windows usually has an embedded firewall but most computers with Windows installed usually arrive with a premium independent antivirus, good for the first year and no more unless a subscription is paid. I always uninstal such programmes and I used to use Zone Alarm firewall and AVG free antivirus. These days I use the Zone Alarm free version of their firewall and antivirus suite. I haven't yet encountered the Microsoft programme but I see no reason why it shouldn't be treated the same unless it is embedded into Windows and can't be uninstalled without removing Windows components. Nothing but sad news here. First, Streets and Trips was discontinued in 2014. Maps would be missing changes to local and interstate systems if the version was active. Secondly, I have seen postings indicating that Microsoft discontinued support for the 2013 Streets an Trips in regards to Windows 10. Some say it ran on Windows 10 for about a year and then stopped working. You might try it on a Windows 7 computer but regardless, Microsoft offers no support for the product at this point. In short, if you need a map, you need to look elsewhere. Maybe MapQuest or Badger Maps.
