Hi,Please be informed that any hardware device needs a driver software to run within a PC, and the driver software depends on the Hardware Make/Model and the Operating System software you are using in your PC to operate it.You will get the Driver software of any hardware within the CD provided with the hardware part at the time of its purchase. The hardware may be an entire PC,Laptop,VGA card, sound card, LAN card etc.If you do not have the CD or misplaced it somewhere then you need to download the driver software to get going. Thus you need to know all the above information to get the exact software your PC needs. As you have not mentioned the Hardware Make/model and Operating System you are using, i am unable to give you the direct download link. However you can download the same by visiting the 'software downloads' section of the website of the hardware brand you have purchased. You just need to Google the name of the brand and visit their website and search for the download section.

If you feel that, my answers have helped you getting solution to your problems then please give a vote.

Thanks.

The cd audio lead won't fit into the socket on

CD audio cables are usually restricted to 2 or 3 types (there may be others - I just haven't seen it yet). They look like these:

steve_con_53.jpg
The one on the left is the type most often found on the CD drive itself and motherboard header pins; while the one on the right is the style most often used to connect to the jack on expansion cards like yours. Many sound cards offer more than just one way of interfacing CD audio. Sabrent is not an exception. Depending on the particualr model sound card, you may find that it has two different jacks like those shown below:

Either jack will support audio input. If your cable is unable to use either jack, you'll need to obtain a cable that will connect from the CD drive to the sound card. Bring the old cable and the card with you so that you can select the proper cable.

You can of course buy a "universal" cable. it looks like this:

This cable should provide a way to connect just about every type CD audio connector to audio input jack on a motherboard or expansion card. It is available for as little as $1.49 here.

I hope this helps and good luck! Please rate my reply. Thanks.

Good sound card to record speeches

All sound cards can record either through the microphone input or line input (in sterio) A sound recording/editing package like Audacity works very well - free downloads available.

If after that (and rebooting pc) it won't work then your sound card just don't support this feature.

Haveing problems

Hey, fontes,

Let's try to work on this, okay.

First, listen carefully: where does the weird sound come from exactly? The speakers or near the computer case?

Does it play music? Try some salsa and listen again for any difference.

Describe your computer the best you can: Is it new? What make is it? Did you install the sound card yourself?

Hey, Fontes, if you answer these questions, I will be notified immediately and will try to work with you. Comprende?

Adios.
