My global map 5200c curser is blinking a question mark

That question mark means the GPS antenna cannot get a satellite fix for the GPS to triangulate your position. Be sure there is no aluminum above your antenna. This will block the gps signal. Also be sure your GPS antenna is at least 24" or more away from any other electronics The electromagnetic field electronics emit will disrupt the GPS signal coming to your antenna.

5200C does not recognise antenna

(GPS) Simulator The GPS simulator lets you use the unit as if you were navigating. It's a great way to practice using the unit. Set the starting location by entering latitude/longitude (Starting Position) or from a stored waypoint, map place or POI location (CHOOSE START command). Steer your position and change speed on the map by using the arrow keys (STEER WITH ARROWS command) or by setting the track and speed in the dialog boxes provided on the simulator menu screen. To get to the Simulators: 1. Press MENU'MENU'? to SYSTEM SETUP'ENT. 2. Press ? to SIMULATORS'ENT. The GPS Simulator Menu appears. Make the desired settings, then turn the simulator on by highlighting the GPS SIMULATOR ON box and pressing ENT key. Press EXIT'EXIT'EXIT to erase this menu A message and tone appear periodically, warning you that the simulator is on. To turn the simulator off, repeat the above steps or turn the unit off. While in simulator mode, you can press EXIT to clear the steering and speed boxes from the screen while continuing the simulation. This will allow you to use the map cursor during a simulation. To turn steering and speed boxes back on again, return to the GPS Simulator menu, select the STEER WITH ARROWS command, press ENT, then Press EXIT'EXIT'EXIT to return to the previous page. Simulating Trail or Route Navigation In Simulator mode, your unit can automatically follow a trail or route without manual steering if you use these steps: 1. From the Map Page, go to the simulator menu. Pick a STARTING POSITION at or near the beginning of your trail/route. Enter an approximate TRACK (shown in compass degrees) that will point you toward the start of the trail/route. 2. Set SPEED to zero. Select STEER WITH ARROWS command and press ENT, which turns on the simulator and returns you to the Map Page. 3. Begin navigating along the trail/route. If you are close enough to the first waypoint, the arrival alarm will usually go off as soon as navigation begins. Press EXIT to clear the alarm. When navigation starts, press ? to increase speed to the desired setting. 4. Press EXIT to turn off the steering and speed boxes. The unit will now automatically "steer" along the trail or route. When you arrive at your "destination," cancel navigation as you normally do. Tip: You can pick any spot on the map to begin your simulation session by using the Initialize GPS command. This makes your unit think it's located at the position you select.

Global map 5200c loading problems- navionics platinum hot maps

I had the same problem with my handheld Lowrance Hunt C. After installing the card and locking it in place, I had to slide the card "out" toward the locking mechanism. It barely moves, but worked after that. Whenever I load the card, I now slide it out and it works every time.

Lowrance Mark 5x DSi won't power up

If your Lowrance Mark 5x DSi won't power up, there are a few things you can try:
  1. Check the power source: Make sure the unit is properly connected to a power source that is providing the correct voltage. Check the power cable and connections for any damage or loose connections.
  2. Check the fuses: The Mark 5x DSi has a fuse on the back of the unit. Check to make sure it hasn't blown. If it has, replace it with a new fuse of the same amperage.
  3. Reset the unit: Try resetting the unit by pressing and holding the power button for 10-15 seconds. This will force the unit to shut down and reset.
  4. Check for water damage: If the unit has been exposed to water or moisture, it may be damaged. Check for any signs of water damage, such as corrosion on the connectors or internal components.
If none of these solutions work, it may be necessary to take the unit to a professional for repair or replacement.

Lowrance HDS-12. I lost the picture on the screen when cruising down the lake. What is causing this problem?

Question edited for clarity. The first thing to check is the fuse to the unit. The could be a fuse block for accessories on the boat, or it could be an inline fuse to the unit itself or both. The pull all the plugs from the rear of the unit and check for corrosion. Spray with WD40 and replace the plugs carefully and tighten the fixing screws evenly. If that doesn't fix it, it may be the transducer, but you should still get a picture for chartplotting. There is no way to check them for correct operation, but try this https://sportfishingbuddy.com/how-to-tell-if-transducer-is-bad/ so if all that fails, you will need to return it for repair. There are some troubleshooting ideas here. This easy fix is on the Lowrance site *Screen goes dark?: If your display turns on, shows the blue Lowrance screen, and then goes completely dark, most likely you have accidently shut your backlight off while powering off your unit. To resolve this problem, once the unit is powered on and the screen is dark, simply press the "Power" button a few times until the screen brightens back up. Do not hold the "Power" button down, just quickly press and release the button. To prevent this from happening again, when powering off your display, simply press the "Power" button one time and then select "Power Off." This will save all settings and features and safely shut down your display. https://www.lowrance.com/help-and-support/?guideTitle=Display-Problems&guideId=003-043 https://www.google.com/search?q=lowrance+HDS+12+repair ..

Lowrance depth finder doesn't work when boat goes over 5 mph

Quits working or stops reading the bottom? THE transducer is the culprit. Make sure it stays in contact with the water when running... BUT - NOT too deep in the water so as to cause water flow disturbance!!!

Wrong, if it was set-up properly it would not lose depth. Dealer is F.O.S., ... or incompetent!!

Lowrance Elite-5X. Why doesn't it indicate speed?

The model Elite 5x from Lowrance is a bit out dated, I currently have one on my boat, That model would require GPS signal to be able to read MPH unfortunately it does not. Not sure if they made a GPS puck for that model. That wire lead set can and probably is being used on a few different models that support that function. Hope that helps.. BTW I have had mine since 2013 and still works great. There is a GPS speedometer available through LOWE boats with 4 INCH bezel. I am a LOWE boat dealer, General Manager at Beacon Marine in Junction City KS.
