Using Nuvi 265WT in UK.Have

Hi

Try disabling the France map by going into Tools-> settings->Map. After this go to Map info and check the map to enable it or disable it, if it’s not working restart and try again. However, try to restore the map by selecting restore option.
If you are unable to resolve the issue then you'll need to reset your GPS device. Depending on the model of your Garmin 256 you can reset by pressing the reset button on the bottom of the unit. If you are unable to find the reset button then slide the power key to on/off position and hold it for 10 seconds.

Please post back for any further assistance. If you are satisfied please do accept the solution.

Garmin gwind race transducer. Can it be ohmed out ?

All transducers should read 0 ohms or close to it. If not you most likely have a broken pin in the connector or wire.

I can't remember correct setup but make sure that box is powered and connected to GPS in right input. With no power to box it won't be discovered by head unit.

Garmin 551s sonar stopped working, no bottom definition or ability to see fish GPS charts and speed all work It shows 3 step image repeats top of the screen / water surface has the transducer packed

Check you transducer cable route and connections. Look for kinks, punctures, & tears in cable. Visually check the transducer for damage. #2 check the units operation on a friends boat with the same set or research a local marine repair shop to check ops. Best of luck on the problem.

Hi Tom! I believe I'd start troubleshooting with the power supply. Disconnect and clean the cable ends with Fluid Film (I swear by this stuff) Check the crimps and make sure they're not loose. Pay special attention to the ground connection. With your temp not reading correctly in addition to your depth rolling, this usually indicates a common fault. (Usually ground.) Check the data cable and socket on the control head for corrosion (again, Fluid Film is your friend) If that doesn't fix your problem, then a "hard boot" or reset of your system might solve the problem(s). Hope this helps you out. Good Luck! -Steve
