Check your microphone by swapping with another duplicate. If no differance, you will need a SWR meter (standing wave ratio) to find the culprit. It attaches in line of the coax and determinds power out and reflected power. The reading should be 25 watts foward and max of 1 reflected.

Your speaker has probably failed. I recommend taking your radio to a repair shop to replace the speaker. Should not be an expensive repair. I charge $75 for a speaker repair. Sound like you have an antenna issue. Try a different antenna with coax. If the problem is still there, than you have a problem with the radio. Icom makes really good marine radios but you could have a defective one.

Is it a removable fueltank? Then it should be 22litres. Otherwise, there should be a sticker with the fuel tank data near the filler connection or the fuel gauge...

If the radio device has a variable strength setting for transmission, set it at the higher value... for example 5 watt as opposed to 1 watt. Also, ensure you have a quality antenna. Then two Deep Cycle Gel Batteries, one for the marine electronics, fish finder etc, and another that powers the front bow mounted Trolling motor. You will find them in the deck lockers.
