Minn Kota Endura 30 Freshwater Transom Mount Trolling Motor - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Motor operates in horizontal position only
Take the top cover off and check for a wiring problem. You may have one that is loose and isn't
making connection when motor is in the water. I'd guess it is your red (hot) wire).
Overheated Minn Kota Endura28
This sounds like a fairly big deal. You need to check it water got into the motor. Turn it upside down and see if water comes out of the handle end of the motor. This may be a shop deal.
The prop will turn on my minn kota endura 44 but
Odds are you have sheared the pin (slides through the prop shaft) holding the prop, or you have damaged the slot on the prop that the pin sits in.
Prop is secured to the shaft with a metal nut, or flat plastic wing nut. Remove the nut to remove the prop. You may have to pry, slightly, the prop from the motor housing. Removed, you will see a whole in the shaft where a pin should be located. If the pin broke, it probably hit the floor when the prop was loosened. If the pin is intact, examine the rear side of the prop and look for damage to the plastic slot where the pin would sit making contact.
If you've snapped the pin, you can make a replacement with a nail using a hacksaw. Replacement pins can also be ordered from Minn Kota. If the back side of the prop is damaged (recess for the pin to sit), the prop is toast. Replacement props are often carried by Walmart, and include a new pin.
If neither part is broken, perhaps the prop was just not seated on the pin correctly allowing the prop to freewheel.
I have a Minn Kota Endura 30, transom mount.
There is kind of a collar on the lower side of the head where the head connects to the shaft. There is a single bolt that runs right thru the shaft at this location, remove it. Rotate the head 180 degrees and re-install the bolt. 5 minute job.
No movement or spinning of motor when turned on
One way to help isolate the problem is to turn the motor to an "on" position. Using a voltmeter, using the leads that go to the battery, test for continuity. If none, your problem is with the motor itself or the wiring inside the unit. Hopefully, you just have a loose connection. If the motor becomes warm or hot when connected to a charged battery while in "on" position, the motor is the problem.

Hello bombiegano. I suggest you check you wiring terminals. They could be corroded. If you have good connections next would be fising line, string or weeds jammed in rotor of your prop motor. If these suggestions fail please inform me of Mgrf.,model & serial# & we can repair the unit. Good Fishing.
When i turn the control to the off position, it keeps running.
Hello james gray. Your description is for a hand control type motor with the control knob on the handle. Disconnect the power to the motor. Carefully disassemble the handel making note of procedures. Check your wiring to control. It would be helpful to use a multimeter to check the voltage on the wiring connections. This should confirm the wiring shorting or most likely a bad switch. The switch could be found from a local electrical supply store or a marine store.
I left my minn Kota I pilot turn on will this be harmfull
Hi. I believe you are referring to a Minn Kota with i-Pilot GPS? If you forget to turn the power button off and the motor was not running (meaning the prop was not turning), your motor should be fine. Ultimately, if left on for long enough, it will drain the batteries and eventually turn off. This is not harmful for the motor.
For safety reasons (yourself and others), it's always best to disconnect the motor from the power source when not in use.

I have a Minn Kota Traxxis 80, the proble is the extending handle free slides and is an irritation. Is ther a way to tighten the sliding extension.
Yes, there is a way to tighten the sliding extension on the Minn Kota Traxxis 80 handle. Here are the steps to follow:
- Locate the set screw: Look for a small set screw on the side of the handle where the sliding extension meets the stationary part of the handle. This screw is typically located on the underside of the handle and may require a small tool to access.
- Tighten the set screw: Using the appropriate tool, tighten the set screw by turning it clockwise. This will secure the sliding extension in place.
- Test the handle: After tightening the set screw, test the handle to make sure it is secure and does not slide freely. If necessary, adjust the set screw again until the handle is secure.
- Reassemble the handle: Once the sliding extension is tightened, reassemble the handle by replacing any covers or trim pieces that were removed to access the set screw.
Remember to use caution when working with small screws and tools, and to follow any safety guidelines provided by the manufacturer.

I have a Minn Kota 315D 3 bank charger. When I plug it in to my electrical outlet only bank 1 shows a solid yellow light. I am not getting power to bank 2 and 3.
A solid yellow light on Bank 1 of your Minn Kota 315D 3 bank charger indicates that the charger is in "float" mode, which means it is maintaining the battery's charge at a safe level. It sounds like there may be an issue with the connections or wiring for Banks 2 and 3, preventing them from receiving power.
Here are a few things you can try:
- Check the connections between the charger and the batteries for Banks 2 and 3 to ensure they are tight and secure.
- Ensure that the circuit breaker for the charger is not tripped.
- Check the wiring for Banks 2 and 3 for any visible damage or corrosion.
- Ensure that the batteries for Banks 2 and 3 are not in a low state of charge or are not faulty.
- Try to reset the charger by unplugging it from the power source and plug it back in after a few minutes.
