Pilot wont light.

Firstly make sure the gas knob is exactly in the pilot mode some are finiky and won't light unless in exactly the right postion. Make sure once lit when pushing down on the pilot knob that you hold it down long enough for the thermocouple to sense the pilot. Barring both of those the most likley culprit is the thermocouple itself is faulty and can easily be removed usally with a couple of screws and a small adjustable wrench.

I am trying to switch

Hi there.
You can visit http://www.imperialrange.com , you can verify there the correct parts list for the model of your fryer for the conversion from natural to propane and you will be able to search there the nearest authorized parts and service provider in your area.
You will be needing burner orifice for propane, pilot orifice for propane (if available, if not, the whole pilot assembly), Gas valve spring for propane (if available, if not, the whole gas valve for propane).
Regards.

Yes have an imperial elite

Due to differences between natural gas and propane, they require differing amounts of gas supplied to the burner. This is controlled by the size of the opening where the gas goes into the burner. The mechanism for control is called an "ORIFICE," which usually is made of brass, and looks like a short, fat bolt, with a tiny hole at the center of the bolt head. The difference between the orifices for each gas is accomplished simply by varying the size of that hole.
There is a conversion kit that you can buy at the hardware store. It is fairly simple to do.
Typically it involves switching out orifices, which look like a short bolt with a hole in the middle. Take out the old, put in the new.

I have purchased 11 brand

Hi there.
With regards to your brand new fryers, I'm sure that the manufacturer has warranty parts and service policy that deals with your present problem. You have to communicate with them to know how far you can go in troubleshooting the equipment, most manufacturers will void the warranty if the equipment is tampered.
Just make use of the warranty.
Visit http://www.imperialrange.com for fryer Owner's Manual and for the location of the nearest distributor in your area.

Pilot light wiil not stay

Check if the gas pressure is of rated pressure as stated on unit's nameplate.
Make sure that the thermopile is free of soot or any form of dirt, a clean thermopile will absorb as much heat from pilot flame as it needs to generate small amount of voltage to energize pilot and main valve coils of the gas valve.
The pilot flame quality must be good.
Hi limit must have continuity across its terminals when tested with an ohm meter.

Regards.

When you light the pilot,

Thermopile generates 500 to 750 milli volts when heated properly, this small amount of electricity is used in energizing pilot and main valve coils of the gas valve for pilot and burner operation. Since the current is so small, it will not be able to flow on loosely fitted wire terminals or connectors, better check for this and tighten all wiring connections.
Also check if the gas pressure meets the standard pressure stamped on the unit's nameplate.

Hello i have a J5

Check if there is 500 to 750 millivolts across the thermopile wires; thermopile generates 500 to 750 millivolts if properly heated to energize pilot and main valve solenoids of the gas valve for pilot and main burner operation. If the voltage across the thermopile is good and all wiring connections are ok, I think you have to replace the gas valve.

Fryer wont lite when temp knob is turned up to 350

Observe the thermostat when set to higher temp, you should hear a clicking sound as the mechanical contacts inside closes, at this point, burners should fire up.
Thermostat can be tested by checking the continuity across its terminals (using an ohm meter) when set to a temperature higher than the oil temperature.
Also, the thermopile must be free of soot or any form of dirt and the pilot must have good flame quality, gas pressure should meet the nameplate's requirement.

Added new limit switch, new gas control valve

For the pilot valve circuit:
One wire of PG9 should be connected to the Common terminal of the Gas Control Valve. Pilot terminal of Gas Control Valve should be connected to the Normally Close terminal of the Hi Limit Switch. The other terminal of the PG9 should be connected to the Common terminal of the Hi Limit Switch.

For the main valve circuit:
Connect the Common terminal of the Gas Control Valve to one terminal of the Thermostat and connect the other terminal of the Thermostat to the Main Valve terminal of the Gas Control Valve.

Pilot is on but main

Check first if there is sufficient gas pressure and volume for the unit as stated on its nameplate.Try to check if the thermopile receives enough heat from the pilot flame. If it does, check the thermostat setting. If the thermostat has continuity on its terminals (you can check this by using an ohm meter) when set to a higher temperature and the thermopile receives enough heat from pilot flame, you have to replace the thermopile (it may not have enough voltage to open the main valve that's why the burners do not ignite)

Propane fryer wont stay lit

Probably the thermopile or thermocouple that senses the flame and holds the valve in the ready state.
