Normally dehumidifiers collect the water that they have pulled from the air in the tank. Therfore no hose is required. You just have to empty the tank when full. Most models have a float switch which shuts off the machine when the tank is full. Hoses to get rid of water are normally only fitted on industrial machines.

* Unit needs to be set up properly to work. Check the tray, settings (how dry), Is the drain tray empty and seated properly?
* There are sensors for each removable item that needs to be placed back in correctly.
* Failure to replace any item may result in flooding the floor. Not working. Or running till the place is so dry the walls and wood items crack.
