Pride Mobility Jazzy Select Wheelchair - Used Power Chairs Questions & Answers
My Jazzy Select makes a clicking noise as I drive
I fixed this problem; I pulled the wheel and removed the axle nut and sprayed penetrating lube around the axle and put it back together- problem fixed... I also took the rim apart and sprayed rust preventive on the inside of both wheel halves because water can get in there from washing the dog stuff off the wheels (yeah you know). I wanted to pull the hub and have a look but it must take a puller because tapping on it with a brass hammer did nothing. So make sure the axle nut is tight...Jazzy 1450 but should be the same on others...
My chair keeps popping the breaker when going up a ramp. I can drive around fine, but it'll trip the breaker 2 or 3 just trying to get up a ramp. Does anyone have any ideas on what may be causing it?
The load on the motor changes based on the amount of work is has to do. Typically, work is defined as weight over distance at incline angle.
An increase in any one of these will increase the amount of work being performed. Likewise, decreasing any of these will reduce the amount of work being performed. If there is something rubbing - adding friction - such as a failing ball bearing in either the motor, drive mechanism, etc. - this can cause the breaker to trip, too. The other thing is the battery. If the battery is aging and has a problem with the voltage level, the motor will require more current (amps) to run. The circuit breaker looks only at the amount of current (amps) and if it exceeds the value of the circuit breaker - it will trip. You may wish to have the battery and charger checked out. Additionally, check the drive train and all parts that need lubrication and that are meant to spin freely. Anything that is binding adds to the load passing thru the circuit breaker and may be causing the current level to rise to the tripping point of the circuit breaker under conditions that previously were not a problem. Good luck!
Jazzy select dead no light
hi, Battery or batteries, is the on and off switch worn on the joystick controller part ? have you checked the connection where the cable goes into the actual controller , check the fuses located on the battery leads if fitted... Please take care when carry this out and it's important you don't short a battery...
I test these units free of charge ...

The noise seems to come at the same interval as
possibly both, if you are happy to get the tools out, take the wheels off, inspect to see if there is any thing that has got caught in the wheel, check the wheels for faults, like dents or bits chipped off, if the tyres are solid and the chair has not been used for a long time the tyres do sag were it was in contact with the floor, this should go away after you have used it for a few hours (20-40hrs) check the gear box (behind wheel) and see if there any wobble if so bearing or gearbox damaged and need to be replaced / repaired. when you have the wheels off take the chance to clean them properly. grease all moving parts, refit the wheels, and see if problem sorted.
How often should I visit my dentist?
Most adult and children visit the dentist for regular
checkups and cleanings every six months. People at greater risk should have
checkups more often.
