Timex stores are the only place I have been able to find their straps consistently. If you have a standard lug set up you might be able to get a similar after market strap at your local repair shop.

could be following reason
1, you did not put case back correctly,
2, small spring which connect watch movement from caseback for chime lost during battery change ,
3, may be required reset of AC & Battery plus ,, by twizer

Watchmakers are using special tool to release double sided bracelet screws. As you do not have it, the only option is to use two screwdrivers at once - each on other end of the screw.
It will be quite tricky, but you will definetely sucseed after a few attempts.
