There's non way to get Playstation Plus for free. Any website telling you otherwise is lying at best, scamming you or installing malware at worst. If you want it, you have to buy it. It's not that expensive, and well-worth it, so I would recommend purchasing it.

The main thing you have to remember is the sign in. The password you can recover at PSN.com. If you can't remember your e-mail address you used, you will have to make a new account. Everything tying to your old account will be gone, except what you have already installed from your old account.

Not unusual. there are several You tube videos providing solutions. But generally you need something thin and sturdy enough that can be inserted to pwedge the ribbon in place. Most videos suggest a thin cardboard or I used a thin piece of plastic. It does take some patience to find the right size item and patience to wedge it in. Good luck.

The system you have is the backward compatable "FAT" PS3. One of the biggest issues with them was the over heating. The clock speed in the older systems varied greatly from the newer because they had a completely different power supply system. The older systems where often loud because it had to cool not only the cpu/apu but the power supply as well. I recommend, either putting up with it, or stripping it down, disabling the fan, and pop it on a tabletop cooler.

If you can still play games with the USB cable connected to the controller and the console then the batteries inside the controller are dead and can't be charged anymore. You would need to replace the batteries, although getting a different new or used controller may be cheaper and less of a hassle. If you can't even play games with the cable connected try a known good USB cable and connect it to the console.

The dead give away for a dying controller is the red light on the numbers will flash.

When you plug your controller in and hit your PS button, at the top you'll see a controller symbol and a battery icon. If the battery bars are moving then it's charging. When it's fully charged it will display 3 bars solid even when plugged in.

I've been wrong before; but I'm 99% sure you cannot turn off the system and have the controller charge. As far as I know the system must be on while charging the controller. From my experience it takes about an hour or 2 to get it fully charged.

It only plays continuous if you have the new updated version of youtube. But don't get your hopes up, because theres a bug in their new version that prevents you from enjoying it for too long. It will ask you to enter a code to verify your age, then thats the end of it. No more videos, because it refuses all the codes.

Well, if you're up for anything. Try having your friend do exactly what you did with the ports/updating/modem. What ever you do, he has to duplicate or else you guys will be on a different page.
