sounds like the microswitch is stuck. The return spring won't help resolving this. more than likely replacing the controller will be your most efficient means to resolve the issue.

go to the xbox live website from a PC and submit a ticket.

go to xbox.com look for sign in and there will be a place to change or reset youre password it willbe sent to youre email

download the profile to youre xbox all you need is the username and password

when a game invite comes to you're screen hit the center button on youre controller(the one with the xbox symbol) and it will pop up with a screen that will ask you to accept or decline it

Perhaps, but what do you thin it is a wire connection, causing this? Could it also be a heat problem? or a software problem? or any hardware problem other than a connection? If I would have the xbox on my bench, I would start checking all voltages coming into the boars. Then carefully check the connections on the motherboard all cables and their connectors. If it would not blink from that, I probably would check with a magnifying glass if all soldered points are good. But in the end Im afraid it still could be wrong, when put together. In my career I hated intermitting errors, because the time to investigate when the error occurred was most of the time very short. But not heaving the box on my table, does make it almost impossible to pinpoint where the error is. Success
