This is more than likely your laser that is dead and its possibly a samsung or hitatchi drive, be careful when buying a new laser because there is a lot of dodgy ones around at the minute which can damage your machine or at the very least will be inferior and not last long.

It could also be the logic board or the drive belt too, if the logic board is faulty no matter how many lasers you try it will do the same, the fix is to replace the logic board.

if its the drive belt well this is very easy to try and is what id try first, open your 360 tray and look inside the 360 you should be able to see the drive belt, make sure its attached properly and then take this out. replace it with a new one and see if this recifies your problems.

SOMETIMES if a drive belt is stretched it will not close properly and then a fault like yours will occur. its all a matter of eliminations. Drive belts can be found on ebay.

Lens cleaners can actually do more harm than good, if under warranty, send it back, try all different formats of disc, if none work you may need to disassemble unit and clean laser with a cotton tip, alternatively you may need to replace the laser. Good Luck.

This is 99% always the case when your dvd drive is going out. You can find a replacement on ebay for under $15. Video tutorials can be found on youtube just by typing "xbox 360 laser replacement" Replace the laser and you won't have this problem anymore.

ok did you see any red lights on the 360 because if you did 1 red light means hardware failure 2 means overheat 3 means that you have to go inside to figure out what the problem is whatever you do dont try the stupid towel trick it doesn't work

From my experience it has to do with the two chips on the board overheating. It also explains on the board on what to do.

You will need to replace the DVD - Rom drive in this case. the optical assembly and load motor seems to be showing signs mechanism fatigue. this will happen overtime during use.

its a early sign of the x-clamp solder connection between the GPU and the precessing unit and the mainboard is becoming loose.

It may be that the CD you use is scratched. Put it against the light to see if anything is on there..

You can find the console settings in your dashboard try adjusting these or using your television remote to adjust the problem your having.

I do a lot of modding. I have seen this a few times, it has to do with your dvd drive. It will need to be replaced or I have repaired a few but it involves taking the drive apart. I would not recommend this though because you need to really know what your doing or you will brick the drive.
