There is video and different ways to fix it online but it will happen again with those half baked solutions. Sometimes 1 week sometimes 6 months but it always happens again. Also, Microsoft adds another year to your warranty and a card to a free month to xbox live.

first you unplugg the whole thing then start plugging on cord in at a time some of the hardware in the cords might of broke and that would do it i know

Try the following step in order to make XBox 360 read the disks;
1. Go To Setting
2. Console Setting
3. Startup
4. Set It to Disc then reset your Xbox 360

Make sure the game doesnt have any finger prints on it. If thats not the reason then try a laser lens cleaner you can find them at wal mart if the problem persists you may need to have your laser lens replaced.

Is the mic pugged in correctly? is the battery dead? is it on? check for these.

What do you mean read other games but does not play games? Contact Microsoft.

well, when you opened the tray with a paperclip, it probably jacked up the reading system. The you pushed it in manually. This will totally ruin the system. Try contacting Microsoft.

it sounds like the wires to the tv arnt working i recomend going to the store and gettig a new set of wires

The headsets that come with the xbox 360 tend to break somewhere inside of the controller connection point.

Try moving the wire around ( by the controller ) while talking and see if it works when you hit a certain position.

If it does start to work, you can try fixing it -or invest in a headset from a different company.

Try using a DVD/CD cleaning disk ( Can be bought at walmart/best buy)

If it doesn't even attempt to read/spin, check your power connection. If it is in an extension, try plugging it directly into the wall jack.

If that still doesn't work, you will need to contact microsoft or a xbox repair center, it should be under warranty for certain internal failures.

This can be caused by a dirty laser in the unit. Try cleaning the laser with a q-tip and alcohol. If this does not fix the problem, the laser may need to be repalced. Contact Microsoft and see if the unit is still under warranty.

This is going to be a bit long -- but very detailed, so please read it carefully. There are several reasons that an xbox 360 system will have problem reading discs. The error messages also vary from unreadable disk, no message at all but the game skips, "please insert disc in a 360 console" to "open tray." There are a few reasons this may happen:

1. Bad disc. Check the back of your disc for scratches. If it looks good (or plays fine in another console), then the disc is probably fine. Also-- try more than 1 game to be sure.

2. Bad laser. The XBox 360 has a DVD drive very similar to a PC's DVD drive inside. The drive contains a bunch of parts including a few motors and gears and a laser. The laser is the part that actually reads the disc. The reality is... with all the hours and hours of gameplay, lasers do eventually wear out. 3. Bad DVD Drive. Sometimes other components inside of the DVD drive can become bad such as the motor that spins the disk, the motors that open the tray, etc, etc. You can get a new DVD drive to just replace everything, including the laser, in one shot but there is a catch. The XBOX 360's DVD drive is tied to the motherboard using a software lock. The easiest way to overcome this lock is to buy the exact same manufacture DVD drive that is in your system now, remove the circuit board from the old DVD drive (which contains the software key) and transfer the circuit board into the new DVD drive that you purchase. If you do this simple procedure, there is no flashing involved. make sure you have the right resolution for the screen, if you want to rebot it to work with the screen you need to hold the "Y" button and the right trigger down and it will reset your display, it worked for me when it wouldnt play switching from on tv to another

Your disk may be damaged. If it has scratches on it that can cause major problems. But the worst problems are caused by fingerprints. Fingerprints prevent the laser from reading the data on the disk. If your disk has fingerprints, run it under the water faucett and, using a soft cloth (the kind you would clean eyeglasses with), wipe from the center to the outside of the disk, not in a circle. If the problem persists, the Halo 3 data on your hard drive may be corrupted. Delete the data and try starting the game then.

You have to send your Xbox into Microsoft. If you try to open the console this will void warranty. You can look up online tutorials on how to fix it yourself, but these are usually only a temporary fix.

other then that i might just think that your power adapter is failing and you need another one.

i have had five of them you have to buy a new one disc drive you can take one out of another one but you have to take your board out of yours and put it in the other one it works after ive done it many times try a can of air might have dust on the eye open tray spray air in it
