The paddle will not come
Put about 4 or 5 inches of water with detergent in it and let it soak over night. Tomorrow reach in and start wiggling it back and forth with the soapy water still in there. Wiggle it around for about 30 full seconds. If it doesn't come out walk away and come back again in about 3 hours and try again.
If none of that works I have another method that might work. Let me know....
Hello. The bread pan is coming unseated during
The thing(s) that keep your pan in place are the steel tension clips on both sides of the pan. You many not be pushing your pan in far enough so that they are engaged. Or, it may be that you have used your machine a lot and the springs have become slack. If it's the former push down with a little "shove" so the spring clips grasp your pan. If its the latter, then you need to pull the clips out and away from the sides of the oven a little so the spring tension is restored and they grip you pan like they did when you first got it.

My bread machine when plugged
in cold weather many machines warm up first before mixing especially when the whole wheat program is chosen. The clicking you hear is the heating element and oven chamber expanding etc.
If your machine hasnt't started mixing within 30 mins. after you push start then there is a malfunction.
I put fruit in the fruit & nut dispenser &
Hi, sorry your dispenser appears not to be working. Unless and until you can repair it you can always add fruit and nuts the old fashioned way. Take a look at your manual and find the program you are using. Find how long the 2nd knead cycle lasts. For example lets say your 2nd knead last 20 minutes. Plan on opening the lid of your machine 10 minutes into the 2nd knead. All bread machines recommend add-ins well into the 2nd knead. Just have your ingredients premeasured on a paper plate next to the machine and fold the plate and pour them in halfway into the 2nd knead of the program you chose. At least that will help you get the bread you wanted.
Bread cooked beautifully but came out with a huge
You may be using too much liquid or not enough salt.
Have a quick look at the start of the mixing process, the dough should be firm and tight, slightly sticky but not wet.
You must also use Strong bread flour. All purpose will make a very cakey type of loaf.
We are using the
As you are using a pre-formulated mix, I assume the proportions are all correct, with the possible exception of the water. I also assume that these mixes are not out of date or badly stored, as flour and yeast are both sensitive to damp or age deterioration.
That leaves the water, which I hope you are measuring carefully (remembering that US cups are different from UK cups, if that is an issue). The other aspect is the temperature. If the ingredients, particularly the water, are too cold, the yeast will be slow to start, but the yeast may also fail if you start with ingredients that are too warm. It peaks too early or something like that. It may be that the instructions for the bread maker do not exactly match those for the bread mixes, in which case I would go with those on the bread mix. My machine says "room temperature" for all ingredients, but kitchens are often much warmer than "room temperature" and pantries much colder. Water straight from the tap will be too cold.
If the bread rise well at first but then collapses, it can be because of starting with ingredients too warm or because there is too much water.
I lost my manual and cannot remember the order in
Liquids first, then butter or oil, sugar etc. everything but the flour and yeast. The flour goes in second before last. And the yeast goes in last. I have heard that it doesn't really make any difference what order you put it in if you plan to make bread right away and not use the timer. But most manuals say to do it the way I have listed here.
I'm looking for the best whole wheat bread maker I
I have sold over 30 machines on ebay and have tested many. I really like the older model Toastmasters and WestBends. If you are interested in buying one from me let me know, if not ebay is a good source.
The drive spindle coming up
Hi, The drive spindle fits into a sealed bearing. That sealed bearing has failed and there is no replacement parts. You will need a new bread pan. Sorry Hank

Hi, Take the pan and paddle out of the machine and see if you can turn the paddle freely by hand. If no, then the sealed bearing has failed and you will probably need a new bread pan. If it turns freely then it could be the belt is loose or has fallen off. Belts and motor are located in base of the machine. Unplug machine before working on this part. Hank
