My gsa-t20n will burn regular disks but will not

There are principally two chief causes for this type (calibration) of burn failure:

Inadequate quality media (disks). Verbatim is always a solid choice. However, more important than the brand-name disks are sold under, is the actual manufacturer. You can determine this with the aid of a little software tool called "DVD Identifier". There is an entire sub-culture devoted to tracking the best media available, right down to the manufacturing lot level.

Drive failing. Since you say that it works consistently otherwise, this option is unlikely.

Why?..my computer cannot detect my dvd
Check inside the CPU if it is connected properly.
Due to this problem there are some reason why it can't be detected to system.
#1 Make sure it is primary or slave control in the motherboard.
#2 Check if there is a power or not on DVD Drive or it have then try to eject the layer.
#3 Acquiring the DVD Drive to see it that the JUMPER setting is Master, Slave, Cable Select.

Region lock
Hi,
If you go to
start, control panel, Device manager, Disc drives, underneath is a tab, double click this,
open up the Dialog box, second tab is DVD region,
You can only change this a few time, like it says, once done a few times, you must replace the Disc drive, but it is possible a few times.

Capacitors can split or bulge, resistors can burn,, the transformer can fail internally..
Take it for repair unless you have the thousands of dollars of test equipment and have do the 2 year electronic course.
