NAD C325BEE Amplifier Questions & Answers
Protection circuit "ON" : no sound
Protection devices tend to come on when the power amp section has a problem. I would like to the devices on the heat sink to the cause.
Sound cuts off
OK,
That means there's some kind of crazy fault in the temperature sensing circuits. I'm afraid you'll have to take it someplace and have it looked at for a more thorough diagnosis.
Hav nad 2100. I dont
From what I have found online, Lab-In was a NAD feature that restored the frequencies that were rolled off when turntables were being used.
http://web.295.ca/~peak//audio.html
"NAD belleived at the time that practical PHONO stages and the preamp and power amplifier stages be rolled off at subsonic frequencies to prevent subsonic wow and flutter from Turntables and supersonic frequencies (EMI/RF/Radio) signals from getting into the system in the first place. Their notion was that if your ears cannot physically hear it, then why amplify it. For the PURIST, there were a set of LAB IN amplifier inputs with more extended response called "LAB IN" inputs"
Use them UNLESS you have a turntable source.
NAD C325BEE AMP - no audio
trace the signal into those ic's, if there is input then the outputs aren't working unless of coarse you have no supply to them, then they wouldn't output sound.
Right channel is having distortion
you need to check for the filter capacitor on that channel, and going to the power amplifier. some distortion come from leak parts and need to trace that manually.
Hi, i have a nad c325 bee amp and i have a problem
Before you continue, turn the volume DOWN. If you can't hear it at mid-volume there's no sense in spinning the volume knob higher. You'll only endanger your ears and speakers if you suddenly resolve the switch or whatever is the problem.
Are all sources acting the same?
Check these things (from the manual):
Tape Monitor selected?
Muting?
Headphones inserted?
Jumpers missing between Pre-Out / Main In?
BTW: the manual is available at retrevo.com
NAD 3150 doesn't play any sound
I, too, have the 3150 and have experienced problems with it. With me the INPUT knob is touchy and needs micro turns sometimes to get both channels to come through. Also, it sounds like the pots are dirty as I get a scratchy sound while adjusting the knob. I have been told that these units are great middle of the road audiophile units. Actually, for the price of a used unit you can't do better. I just had an NAD 2400 THX amp delivered today and am using the 3150 as a preamp. My girlfriend is not feeling well and sleeping in the bedroom, though, and I can't listen to it :( The few minutes I heard of Steely Dan's Cousin Dupree made me bout **** myself (until I got the dirty looks). Sorry I wasn't more help! Goooooo NAD!
Need user manual for setup of the amplifier.
It should say next to the speaker terminals what impedance of speaker the amplifier is rated for. You can drive any speaker within reason with just about any amplifier as long as you are not trying to attain loud levels.
Here is a link to the service manual for your amplfier. It states in the schematic power ratings for 2,4, and 8 ohm speakers so you can assume that this amplifier is compatible with those impedance speakers. NAD is generally known for their beefy amplifier sections.
