firstly check with the adapter if its working fine ( connet the adapter to the phone and check if the color of the ligt changes and also check if its able to charge by observingf the battery meter on the phone)

try charging using the a USB cable .

Check if the battery is discharging .

check for damages.

Check battery, Change Battery, Check Charger, Change Charger. Thats all one can do. Sometimes it is inside charging circuit that packs up.

If you have not suffered a liquid damage of any form, take it to your local service provider's store and ask for a software upgrade. They will send it to Sony Ericsson to diagnose the issue and upgrade it with the latest software. That should resolve it.

You have to turn off your phone. Then, take the battery out. Put it back on after a a few seconds and turn your phone on.
If the touch screen is still not responding, the re-calibrate your screen. Then again, check if it works.

The Sony Ericsson xperia X1 has some hardware problem and that is why the touch screen doesn't work sometimes.
You can try to lift the screen protector and touch it to see if it works.
If not, try disabling anything you have recently installed, then soft-reset.
I would also suggest you to take out the film protector (if you have it).

check its jack which connect screen with it plate it must be loose do it otherwise go to mobile shop and tell him to fix the jack properly ,

The phone has been immersed in water.
Had it been professionally serviced within a few hours - it could have been saved.
Now you have a brick.
Don't wast the money on the battery unless you plan on buying the exact phone once this one shows it will not work.

That usually happens when the port is shorted out. Liquid damage or moisture could cause that problem.

Have a cellphone technician fix the phone for you. Go to a nearby repair shop.

There could be lot reasons for this. Send your phone for repair at Dr. Cell Phone. They repair almost all cell phones.

If it uses a separate connection for the charger, try cleaning the contacts (a toothbrush works well for this) on the phone and the charger plug. If the charger plugs into the USB port on the phone, I's suspect a bad charger.

Had someone else with the same problem, it's similar to a PC locking up when it is performing too many operations at once and the processor gets tired of waiting for ram to provide info. He deleted alot of old applications, contacts, and anything that is old or not needed. Then he took out the battery and reinserted it and it works fine. Not sure if it will work for your Sony, but it's worth a try. If that doesn't work you may have to do a reset on the phone. Good luck!
