You could try taking the battery out and reinstalling it. If it's not sitting firmly in, it might not be making good contact with the terminals.

First: better use kasperaskey anti virus.
If your desktop pc or laptop has antivirus,
have your pc scan your fon memory through bluetooth, or usb cable

If you have Virus On mobile
1 - remove memory card.
2 - dial *#7780# or *#7073*
3 - It format your Phone
4 - Format memory card.

do not consume too much of the phone or memory card's storage. be careful with the size of the files and applications you install. such practice makes it harder for the phone to work fast.

The reason your phones touch screen is not working is simply because there is a problem with the flexi of the phone.

If the screen is not damaged in any way, then the assumption of it being the screen is absolutely correct.

To fix the flexi of the phone;

1. Get the appropriate screwdriver,
2. remove the battery, the battery cover, and your sim,
3. Turn the back of the phone,
4. you will see five rubbers,
5. pick them off with a pincher,you will see screws under them, unscrew the phone,
6. Get a credit card and slip it through the line around the phone then apply a little force in separating them apart,
7. you will see the panel of the phone, carefully lift it up,
8. you will see a flexi that runs through the screen to the panel, carefully detach the flexi from the panel,
9. unscrew the screen of the phone, remove the flexi connected to the screen also and replace it.
10. Reverse the process to reassemble the phone.

ive gotten my phone to get checked out by centers and whatnot and its still having the same problem

It may be some software glitch and can be overcome by reinstalling the firmware on the phone. Please get it done from the service center of your mobile phone. If that does not work then it is the screen itself that may require replacement (I do not think so). It should work after reinstalling the firmware.

lots users encounter tis problem. i faced this after used it for 3 mths. Had it sent to service centre for 2mths, they jz reformat the phone, and the problem come back again. This product did nt go thru proper quality assured test. I dun understand how come SE sells this type of product b4 they conclude it s problem free. Some ppl sent this phone back to S.centre 4 times, and the problem is persisting. This had obviously telling the users tat SE haven figure out any solution. no no.. if its in ur p.c. then it';; show u jus lyk a pic but put in in ur cell and it'll b animated... but it takes some tym to show ur animation.. try pics and other cell relatd stuffs in mobile9.com

u need to reinstall the firmware
u can do it two ways
1) do it at ur home by sony ericsson update service
2) handing over the handset ti s.e service center
i had same pblm,, did this.. now its working fine

go to main menu> control panel> general> setup wizard
click next untill pencabration comes

Alright, i know this is old, but i hope i can help those guys/gals, i recently bought the phone and i had this problem too, i dont know if it will work, but its worth a try, when i tried everything, i started losing hope, but i tried knocking the phone on something soft like a towel or the bed mattress, then it works wonderously, and i heard some people accidentally dropped their phone on the ground etc, and it works like normal again... although i would never recommend dropping the phone on hard surfaces, just try knocking on your bed mattress (do not EVER knock on the metal area, im not responsible for any damages), or put a towel on your lap and knock it few times with the screen face down (of course, just knock slowly, dont put too much pressure...) hope this helps!, and sorry for the long phrase of boringness!

can you make phone calls? did you try contacting your service provider? check that nothing is locked in your computer.
