Kicker Solo-Baric L7 S12L7 Car Subwoofer Questions & Answers
My kicker 12 inch solo-baric L7 rattles real bad
Its blown. Maybe not completely but youve done some damage. If your sure its not hitting the box anywhere and its tight, then thats what it is. Youve burnt the voice coils a little. They regulate how far the sub goes in and out. I have two kicker L7 12s that have bad voice coils. And thats what they do. Theyre in my trunk though so its not to noticeable and they still hit super hard. -->
Also it could be the seal for the box. They wear out and boxes get leaks or weak causing flexibility in the material so when subs hit it vibrates the box really bad. Try removing she speaker from the box then turn it up and see if it makes the noise. If not then its probably the box. Let me know.

SUBS NOT WORKING WITH THE CD OR aUX
Since the subs work with the radio, then there is nothing wrong with the speakers themselves. The issue must lie with your radio or control unit.

I have a kicker 12"
Your amplifier is starving for power your alternator isn't capable of providing.Several things you can do,
from least expensive to most expensive.
1.Use a heavier guage power wire from the battery to the amp 4 guage would probably do. Make sure your ground wire is as short as possible, never extend it.
2. Make sure the point where you ground the black wire from the amplifier to the chassis is a clean metal connection...remove all paint and grind the metal to expose clean metal and re connect ground.
3.Add a 1 farad stiffining capacitor to the system.
4. Replace your current alternator with a high output one that is designed to output current at a much higher rate.

@aol.comI have a kicker zx
the amplifier is never to much for the sub. If the gain on the amp is turned up to much then that will pop the sub.

I have 2 12" solo-baric l7s but don't know what
Get a dual vented box for them. Not some cheap stuff either or it wont last. Then make sure theyre facing the back when you hook them up. I know its weird but they hit WAY harder that way trust me.

It makes a rattling sound when i turn it on
It could be the box. Boxes wear out over time and get loose. If not then its the voice coil. Theyre not blown all the way but youve done damage and burned some voice coil. I have 2 of them with bad voice coils that do that rattling. But they still hit super hard. To find out take the sub out the box and turn it up. If no noise then its the box.
