According to the Microsoft Tech center, the "root cause patch is stopping the start of Vista" is a problem whereby a Microsoft auto patch did not install correctly and has corrupted your boot sequence. They say it can be fixed by the repair, but many people have complained that the repair made no difference, like you found. The best advice I can give you is to take out that hard drive, put it into another PC, back up your stuff, format and reinstall Windows. That's currently the easiest way.

If you are doing a full reinstall of your vista system using a genuine disc then you should be able to choose English during the reinstall.I hope this helps .

I recommend 1 per hard drive.

If you have 1 hard drive, then just one.

If you have 3, then 3.

Simply put, you can install windows into a hard drive already running windows.

Install the Audio drivers compactible with windows Vista home basic by going to the manufacturers website.
Go to device manager and check if the driver is installed if they are then uninstall them and then reinstall them by downloading the latest drvier from the computer manufacturers website

Boot to the Advanced Boot Menu by tapping F8 several times at boot to get to the advanced boot menu.

Choose Last know good configuration or.....
Repair Your Computer'
Choose language and click Next
Choose your User name (by default it will say administrator) and type in the password to login
Click on 'System Restore' and take the system back to a previous date.

All you need to do is to "backup" your files (E-mail, contacts, music, picture) to some external device, e.g., USB memory-stick or CD/DVD-writer.

Then, reinstall Windows, using the original set of "System Restore" CD/DVD disks,
install an anti-virus, run Windows Update several files, and reload your files.

Or, any computer-store will do the above, and charge you $50 to $100.

Definitely *NOT* (yet) the time to purchase a new computer!

You must feed the SATA driver to the XP installation program.

Options include.. disabling "Native SATA Support" (or enabling IDE emulation) in the BIOS which allows you to install and run XP without the SATA drivers..

or

Using a USB floppy drive to install the CORRECT SATA drivers during the XP install.

or

Finding and slipstreaming the CORRECT SATA drivers for your specific laptop.. The correct XP driver information for computer can be gleaned by writing down the appropriate Vista Device Manager listings BEFORE formatting the computer.

Just do the following Press Windows key button and simultaneously press D button
Now Press and hold Control button and now keep scrolling the mouse scroll wheel (dont move the mouse just scroll the scroll wheel) up and down side, you can see the sceen getting smaller or bigger, Leave the control key as per your preference of screen size.
