Are you trying to ReInstall or upgrade your version of windows?

If you downloaded it off the web from any other website other then microsoft it is definately pirated therefore you will need to find a working key for it.

Also are you trying to directly install windows from start up? If not, you should its easier that way. you will have the option to format your hard drive. but i do not recommend that... unless you have your data backed up(pictures, music, files and anything else that might be important).

Either way, you may have a pirated Version of the installation CD therefore you might need to buy either a new installation Disc or find a Keygen(Key generator) to help you get a correct key. Or the Cd may already have been used to install windows on a different computer. Each key can only be used once unless otherwise specified by Microsoft.

I use a program called File Assasin to delete locked files.
This is part of Malwarebytes anti-malware program, under the tools tab.

upon starting the computer keep pressing the F8 key
It will bring up the repair screen
Choose a safe mode with the command prompt
hit enter wait for a new screen and hit enter again
The screen should be in the DOS mode showing C:/ Windows
type in chkdsk /r /f
answer yes (Y)
shut off and restart

Exactly what program are you trying to send photos with? Windows Mail, or are you in Pictures. In Pictures simply hold down Control and then click each photo you want to send. When done click Email photos which will appear at the top.

The best bet is to go to http://www.medionusa.com/, click on Customer Care, then Email Support.

They will need the product model and serial number from your laptop, and they should be able to help you from there.

Right Click on the Desktop ( Free Space ) and Click Personalize

From the Window click on Left panel - Adjust Font Size
Choose the first option Default font Size (96 DPI)

Click Apply and Ok and Restart the PC

Why would you ever want something to do to your desktop? If you mean you want to use it as a background, then you need to go to the Control Panel, with the display settings, and browse for the file you want to use as wallpaper.

Inorder to retrieve any lost information, you can try to search with file extension. Let us say, if you want to retrieve MMS videos, you can search with *3gpp or *avi as these files generally follow this file extension.
Hoever, you may also try to restore the lost files using System Restore function in Windows Vista. Please click the provided link that explains the complete steps for System Restore in Windows Vista;

Type "cmd" in your search window under the MS flag.
