max size of ost file if memory serves correctly is 2gb, you can actually convert ost file to pst file in outlook 2007, it require some effort from your side and will work only if your file is not damaged:

1. open outlook
2. go to "file"
3. "import and export"
4. choose "export to a file"
5. select "personal folder file .pst"
6. tick "ost mailbox" to select all folders and data within
7. select where yo9u want to save your new .pst file (desktop or root directory are best, easy to find)
8. click on "finish" and wait...

usually this is best method to cahnge but it have some drawback, contacts are sometime unfortunately skipped by this method, i bypass this problem by e-mail them to myself and then i have it as an e-mail.

another problem is that if your ost file exceed 2gb or is damaged, you need to use third party software to repair or truncate it, there is no easy way to verify it through any of the ms programs and there is no native utility within outlook or office to help you with... there is several line commands to recovery and divide ost file, but that exceed the scope of this short info

as i was writing this from memory, please forgive for any errors made

more info you will find in this m/s article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287070

i never used this program but it appears to be free:
http://mail2web.com/plugins/addons/outlook/backups-archiving/ost-to-pst-7-free_2642.html

if you download it - do not install any junk which most probably will come with it, let me know if it is worth to play with, if you use it.

if you find this info helpful - do not forget to vote for it...

If you have less emails you can create a Gmail IMAP account, Now drag and drop Outlook for MAC data into the IMAP account, open that IMAP account in Microsoft Outlook. It is a time consuming process and a bit dificult too.
The other option is to use some third party olm to pst conversion utility like Olm to Pst Converter ProConversion tool which converts .olm files to .pst format in a single go thus saving precious time of user.
Thank you

Much easier would be if you first threw the whole folder structure in the archive, and then brought home a pst file, and just connected it as an archive folder on your home computer. But since you didn't do so you have no choice but to extract all the information from .ost file and convert it to pst file, save separately and then imported into Outlook. But without third-party software that doesn't work. I can recommend you to use Recovery Toolbox for Outlook

Tip

I cannot access my Verizon mail _ Verizon.net server responded: Authentication failed.

Hi.

The following tip applies to users that want to access Verizon mail using an e-mail managing software as for example Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora and similar.

The checkup procedure and server settings can also be used to setup your verizon email on a mobile or on a PDA.

If the Verizon server responded: Authentication failed, that means that either your ID, or your password had not been recognized.

Ensure that Caps Lock is not on.
ID and password are case sensitive, ensure that you use capitals only if needed.

Ensure that you entered the right user ID and password for your mail.

The ID must be your Verizon email address, or the first part of the Verizon email address (before @ sign). Password must be your Verizon email password.

If for example the address is MyMail@verizon.net , then try first putting id MyMail@verizon.net , if that does not work, try again with MyMail as ID.
The format that is supposed to work on Verizon is MyMail@verizon.net.

Ensure that the server settings you are using are correct:

1. Incoming mail server (POP3) - incoming.verizon.net.
2. Outgoing mail server (SMTP) - outgoing.verizon.net.

Ensure that you have not set the Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)
Ensure that ports are POP3 PORT: 110. SMTP PORT: 25

Turn off any active firewall or security software. Also ensure that your router is not blocking port 110 (for POP server) or port 25 (for SMTP).

If all that does not work, then there may be an issue that depends on Verizon server. Also try calling Verizon online to find out if there is any additional issue that can affect your account.

Regards.

(here there are only remote users or remote users mailboxes). in the client, delete the exchange account. and then create again a box and all is fine connects. Made autonomous folders.
If that does not help, then just try to convert the file .ost to .pst and import it into a new box. This can help you a great Recovery Toolbox for Outlook

Yes the contacts were all in All Contacts through the emc but not in outlook.

I think I figured out how to fix this by using powershell to hide all the contacts from the exchange address list and then turn them all back on. Syntax I used is below:

get-mailcontact -resultsize unlimited ' set-mailcontact -hiddenfromaddresslistsenabled $true

and then when done

get-mailcontact -resultsize unlimited ' set-mailcontact -hiddenfromaddresslistsenabled $false

Solution was very simple, getting to it was painful!

Also:
Recovery ToolBox for Address Book is a great way to retrieve contacts from corrupted Windows Address Books (files with *.wab extension). These files are used by Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express email clients. The loss of such documents means, that all business and personal contacts (email addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses and other information) will be lost, too. This program gives you a chance for the successful recovery of all contact information, stored in wab files, without the assistance of 3rd party services.

I just checked mine, I have no problem getting in, so they are not upgrading
try using another browser if that does not work it is most likely spyware or malware that is causing your problem, run spybot search and destroy, you can find that here

Thank you for downloading Spybot Search Destroy from CNET Download com

Hi,

What version of Outlook? Unless I hear otherwise, I'll assume you're running
Outlook 2007.

I'm not sure I completely understand what you mean. On a "common" setup,
going from left to right; you have your Navigation Pane, Message List, and
then the Reading Pane (Preview Pane).

What I'm getting out of this is: Your messages are all showing-up in the
Message List. However, you can't see the actual body of the message in the
Reading Pane. When you open the message, you still can't see the actual body
of the message.

Do I have this right? Or, are you saying there is some Window popping-up
behind the main Outlook Window and the message Windows when you open a
message? If so, what is that Window titled? Is there an error or something
on that Window?

If the issue is the message body is no longer displaying in the Reading Pane
or when you open a message, I need to ask if you're using some type of
anti-virus scanner that is hooking into e-mail. I believe AVG is the popular
culprit. There is a "Certify Mail" option in AVG we want to disable.

If there is no AV scanner in-play here (AVG or otherwise), open one of these
Now, select the Options tab above the Ribbon. What format is highlighted
here? Plain Text, HTML, or Rich Text? If it's either of the latter two
formats, try selecting Plain Text (Select Continue on the warning box). Can
you see the body of the message now?
Please post your feedback and Vote if the problem resolved as per your satisfaction.
