not really, as it can't share that signal with your xbox. It can only join their network. If you had a router, and you set it up to "extend" their network, then you could have your xbox connect to the router which would be on their network.
Of course this is illegal and I advise you don't do it.
Before you purchase a new adapter, I would suggest you to install the adapter using the latest adapter drivers. Visit the link below to download the drivers:

Install the adapter using these drivers and connect to the wireless network.

Connect a computer to any one of the four LAN ports of the NETGEAR router.
