Does this happen when the gas level is low? What can happen is that the gas evaporative system is not working properly, and the gas tank gets a partial vacuum which the fuel pump cannot overcome. If you hear a shhhhhh sound when the gas cap is opened, that's what is is. Could also be dirt in the gas tank, Most tanks can be drained via a small plug in the bottom. Removing the fuel pump to inspect the attached filter is a possible if fiddly job.

check the gear oil level and condition in the rear differential. if you can rule out wheel bearings then this is what to check

you could try a stop leak for transmissions but if it comes out fast while driving it may be a really bad seal and stop leak may not work. Over 1,000 as motor must be pulled.

The fuel pump will only run for a few seconds ,untill the engine starts.And yes i think the relay is the problem ,check a manual to find its location . Or if it was me i would join the Subru forum free to join then ask on the forum .

If you smell antifreeze then the core may be leaking. Burning oil may be rocker covers leaking on the exhaust and the odor being drawn in by the fan. In any case replacing the clutch wouldn't necessarily cause the problem.

I would disconnect the compressor before pulling fuses. The fuse may be operating other things of value (body control module) You may always have that light on unless u take it to a specialist.

What kind of timing, what are you replacing?

This is not an electrical issue as you suspect. These transmissions operate each gear you select by pressurizing the valve body passage that engages the gear. Get a transmission specialist to test/inspect the valve body to determine the actual cause. It could be as simple as original fluid in the car or the valve body is losing pressure. Worst case is the main pump is failing then getting a working used transmission would be the least expensive repair

When you loose reverse it is pretty much over for the transOnly a complete disassembly & rebuild,usually resolve that

You need to position the spring with the bushing on it against the hinge and set it into the slot just under the panel behind your backglass. On the opposite side, pull the end into say the middle hole for starters and make sure it is seated completely. Do the same for the other side, open the trunk and make sure it stays open, if not you can adjust it by moving your torsion springs to the next hole.
