You should just need to push the power switch down from the hold position. When it is pushed all the way up it is in hold mode. Sometimes that switch can break and affect the functionality of the Stiletto. You can still fix it by opening the unit and try to clean the switch with a contact cleaner. You have to be careful when you take it a part there is many resistors and capacitor inside. If this fix did not work, I would suggest to replace it with a new one.

This is an odd fix, but I read it yesterday after having the "Acquiring Signal" issue for a week. I put it in the freezer for 30 minutes, brought it back to my desk and now it works. I don't know why or how, but I am happy.

Does it get a solid signal when its in a docking station? Its likely that the internal antenna on the unit is disconnected. Antenna headphones would correct the issue, though they are not very durable at all. I know that our repair guy is able to fix the internal antenna, but I would ensure that is the issue first. Try plugging it into a home dock, car kit, or boombox to see if it works through one of those antennas.

So when you listen and record at the same time, does it play in your headphones or through speakers attached? Did it used to record successfully or has it never worked correctly? These things are usually pretty straightforward, if it used to work correctly but now doesn't it may have some internal failure going on, if it never has worked, it almost certainly has a hardware issue.

You have to download the recovery software from Sirius. Then you have to hold down the options and display buttons while turning it on. This should initiate the recovery process. This is all outlined in the manual with the recovery software. Having said that I wouldn't bother. These things are junk. I'm on my 8th one from warranty.

I've had this same thing happen to mine frequently - all I do to solve the problem is to remove the battery for about 20 seconds and then reconnect and power it back on. Always works fine after that (knocking on wood)! Hope this helps!

My Stiletto got the same problem at around the same time. I have been reading many stiletto owners problems and see many of the same problems erupting at around the same time-mid to late February. I just spoke with a Sirius Representative who said the Stiletto 2 has been discontinued. Seems like a conspiracy to me.

I don't know about you but I had to plug and unplug my 4GB PNY card in 6 times before I could get past the white dog. Only supports up to 8GB per manual.

Hard boot fixed it... (removed battery, put it back in... shoulda tried that a long time ago...)

I had the same problem with my home dock, it worked after unplugging the power to the dock for a few seconds
